I took a couple of different classes with Mr. Bach at GWC in the early 2000s. He was fantastic! He used his experience as a former police officer to give an interesting perspective on whatever we were learning, and even took us on field trips. He will always be one of my favorite teachers. Such a great person and teacher.

Comment:

Quizzes and tests are ridiculously hard. The "test prep" involves two non-graded pre and post tests per chapter, 50 questions total. Not a single one prepares you for the test in any way. I did not learn about political science, I was forced to remember minutia. No extra credit, which is a turn-off for some. Good luck.

took a couple courses with Mr. Bach in the mid-80's. enjoyable & knowledgeable - & caring. provides level-headed encouragement & sober advice. great anecdotals & experiential "stories". While Mike encouraged me to pursue a law enforcement career, suggesting i could attain the rank of Sergeant within 5-yrs., i did ultimately enter other fields.

Mr. Bach was the most helpful professor I've had. Not only did he teach real world knowledge, he made you take a look inside criminal justice system. I just found out he wasn't teaching at GWC this semester and I'm really upset. He was awesome!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED MR. BACH, HE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING. NOT A LOT OF HOMEWORK, BUT DEFINITELY A LOT OF NOTE TAKING, AND TESTS WERE FAIRLY EASY. I wish I hadn't spent money on that class. I learned almost nothing and he spent more time talking about his troubled family life than teaching character. He uses a lot of profanity and makes offensive comments. Not recommended for serious CJ majors. You'll learn more about his daughter than the material. He'll drop class to bring her a textbook.

Not sure what Bach was trying to do other than freak the class out. My class of 30 had to retake the midterm 3 times because everyone failed, I got the highest grade which was a D. He said he didn't grade on a curve so basically he was going to fail everyone and had no problem doing so. I think he just liked scaring us because I got a B at the end.

My favorite professor of all time!Mr.Bach really cares about his students.He has a lot of guest speakers and if possible, class field trips(regardless of class section you take with him). He knows his stuff, he doesnt need the book to refer to.He is an Ex Police Officer with great "war stories!" I recommend to ALL regardless of your major!THE BEST!

By far the best teacher I have had. He makes a long class really fun and you never get bored. I am almost sad I only have him once a week because he teaches you so much about life and police work. He does digress a lot but, they are always enjoyable and you learn more about the topic. I find class to take with him because he is so cool.
