He teaches in a very formulaic way, but it makes it easy to know what is on the tests. His tests are writing, and he assigned 4 essays. I'll be sad to see him go.

Dr. Ervin is my favorite history professor at Central. I took three classes from him. At first I didn't know what to expect. I didn't really have much interest in Latin America prior to his classes, but afterwards I love it. He's a tough grader, but makes you a much better writer in the end!

He made us do a ridiculous debate in front of class. Class was too hard for credits, and he needs to hydrate himself better because he gets this little ball of white stuff on his lips.

To much debating... felt like it was a waste of time. I like history but this guy is a lousy prof. His grading is insanely hard. He like latin america a lot....

Proud of his Doctorate, loves Latin America and can't figure out why others don't. Nice guy, easy to talk to. If you can say something witty during class, try, he keeps track.

Generally nice guy, specializes in Latin American history. Of the department, probably the easiest on the eyes.

He's cool, but he grades really hard. The worst part of his class is the essay portion of tests, which are closed book. You have to write and memorize two two-page essays! Tip: participation is key in his class.
