I was wary about taking Professor Kenneally, yet I took his course out of necessity and convenience. What I found surprised me. He is a wonderful and inspiring professor who will take the time to help his students out. If you're willing to listen to his feedback and push yourself, you will succeed and even improve.

This was honestly not a great prof/course and I would not recommend others take it, unless they were super passionate about Irish Studies. Prof was scatterbrained, an arbitrarily hard marker, and left way too much work for how the grade distribution was balanced. Avoid.

Honestly, worst class I have ever taken in college and university combined. Hardest grader and expect loads of homework, quizzes and essays. Would NOT recommend.

He knows his stuff (It's not a compliment)! I think he believes himself to be a superior mind. He is a really tough grader. He thinks he's clear, he's not. But, he changed my perception on essay writing suggests good readings.

I didn't like how he went off the rails against how superior 20th Irish literature is compared to British literature. I didn't find him helpful at all. I really disliked him.

A superb teacher, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and most importantly, able to take complex and bizarre concepts and explain them in easy layman's terms for the dumb, such as myself. A very tough marker, very exacting, and it's not always easy to know what he's looking for...but a sincerely good teacher. U must be willing to be challenged.

Best professor I've ever had! This man is so knowledgeable and has helped me more than any teacher ever has. He made the course so interesting for me and really motivated me to enroll in the program. I would definitely recommend this class.

Comment:

Great teacher, really enjoyed the calss. Knows a lot about the subject and is very interested in how Irish studies can tie into many different feilds. A great introduction class to the program, also VERY helpful and willing to give advise, he wants you to do well. The projects were a little vague but that would be my only criticism of the calss.

He's a great prof, very knowlegeable, but a tough marker when it comes to structure. He also sets it up so you have a two-essay take home and a final (amounting toabout 3000-4000 wrds)all due at the end, which is tough. I didn't like how before group presentations, he would lecture on the topic assigned, leaving the group to reiterate whathe said

What a great prof,very professional,knows his stuff well. Tough tough marker, but only because he focuses on structure. I learned so much about essay writing from him. I will never look at an essay the same way. He is funny, sings in classs (Sirens episode-Ulysses). Very very very very helpful. I loved his class and really liked him as a prof too.

MK is an amazing lecturer. Never losing time on redundance and irrelevant ideas. Always getting to the point, making you feel much more interested about the topic. If you have the chance, take his special for improving your writing. Enjoythe Irish psyche!

His course was super interesting, yet very challenging...I really learned a lot in his course...I took it because it fit my schedule and I needed the credits, and I ended up really enjoying it...great lecturer...good sense of humour!
