I know a lot of people who thought the class was really easy. However, I do know others in the class who struggled. He is very particular about professionalism in your writing, and being able to have the maturity to be impartial when writing a research paper. You have to know how to write narrative and research papers effectively. Give quality work

Great professor!! really cares about his students. gives lots of time for each assignment and explains them in detail. Also, he gives great feedback on every assignment on how to improve and what he liked about the text. He always urges students to email him if they need help. Definetly recommended!!!!

Professor Stancliff is one of those rare professors that really invest in their students. He leads thought provoking class discussions and is incredibly knowledgeable. He spends a great deal of time working with the students and helping them develop as writers. He will screen any drafts you send him and gives you time for revision. Great teacher!

Professor Stancliff is an excellent professor. He truly cares about what he teaches and cares even more about his students. He gives feedback, which helps the students become better writers. The work is tough, but he is not unreasonable. You will have to post on Blackboard every week, and essays. You will learn a lot from him.

Prof. Stancliff is a truly caring person, and an amazing teacher. Classes are very discussion-oriented, so do the readings and be prepared to discuss them at length. All of his classes provide an excellent foundation for continuing studies in af.amer. literature, english, history, and cultural studies.
