Comment:

Dr. Svec is very knowledgable about what he teaches and generally gives interesting lectures. For EDU111, you have to tutor every week, which really isn't bad, but be prepared for that. He will read over your essays before they are due, which can be very helpful and help your grade a lot. A good amount of reading as well, but is interesting.

Comment:

Dr. Svec is really a pretty chill guy. Everyone says he's kinda weird, which I didn't really pick up on. Maybe because this class is Perspectives on American Education, a lot of people don't like how liberal he is (he's pretty woke). Easy grades, the lowest grade I got was an 87, and the fieldwork is easy compared to other EDU courses at FU.

Comment:

I probably only went to class about half the time in my EDU111 course this semester. The lectures were rather dry, and since attendance wasnt mandatory, I liked to sleep in instead of getting up. Dr. Svec is a really nice guy, a good teacher, and someone who is willing to work with you. Above all, too much work that involved leaving campus.

Dr. Svec is sometimes super weird and quirky , but you get used to it. His tests are not too hard and he barely gives any homework, if any at all.

Comment:

Dr. Svec is an awesome guy! You will actually learn material and remember it. The tutoring experience is unbelievable (at this point, life-changing for me). Earn your A by going to class, paying attention, taking notes, and focusing on the papers. Dr. Svec is lenient and kind! I would take every education class through him if possible.

This class is not too difficult. Svec has his quirks and there are many typos in his powerpoints but if you go to class, take notes, and read then an A is easily obtainable. In papers relate them back to class discussion as well as put in personal opinions and an A can be expected.

He really is not that bad. If you go to class, you can just get his powerpoints online and an "A" is not impossible. He tends to be more on the liberal side so if that bothers you, he might take some getting used to.

i really enjoyed this class! instead of sitting down for 2 hours all the time, we went and observed like 5 schools. he also likes to know what we think, and our opinions. in my class there were plenty of interesting discussions. i could count the boring days one 1 hand. thats saying something!

This class was great, don't get me wrong, you have to work but the class is interesting. Dr. Svec teaches by example, he uses the methods and styles he's teaching about. Tests are based on application not regurgitating facts.

He's not an OK guy... he's probably the most un-OK guy in the dept. Mean and snooty. Very unclear, just sort of babbles on to himself so you learn nothing whatsoever... all at $30,000 at year! yay!

He is an awful prof. Every Tuesday and Thursday I got depressed just knowing what was in store for me that afternoon. I don't usually fall asleep in classes, but I could barely stay awake in his. The items on the test were practically chosen at random.
