Comment:

I am so glad I took Mr. Moran during spring quarter because I failed the first time with a different professor. His lectures are easy to understand. He is patient and make sure all his students understand. He is accessible using web assign which has the ask your teacher option. He is also willing to help during office hours! I definitely recommend!

Comment:

The material itself is basically learning how to use your graphing calculator to do statistics calculations and learning vocab. The tests we always had a whole 8 by 11 sheet to use for notes. Hes nice but during lecture he often confused words and got lost in the middle of a problem or forgot what the problem said. Age is catching up w/ him.

Nice enough fella but extremely senile, terrible class format, stupid goddamn subject, can't pay attention, and I love math. Stats has destroyed my love of math.

Comment:

I've always disliked math, but Mr. Moran has really made statistics very fun for me! He's older and sometimes will wright numbers down wrong and he's not the best with technology, but neither of those have been a huge issue. He is very responsive and gives good explanations during lectures. You also get an entire page (8.5x11) of notes on tests!

Comment:

Professor Moran is a really nice man. I don't think he receives the respect he deserves from his students. Many people would cheat in his class and it was extremely frustrating witnessing it - therefore, I reported it and hope others do the same. You won't get anywhere in life not putting in the work. He's a good teacher, forgetful but knows math.

One of the nicest, humblest, and caring professor you will ever meet in college. his agenda are very clear and straightforward. he will not get tired of helping you and he makes sure you understand the material. NO QUIZES!!! ONLY 3 EXAMS which they are all the things you have covered in class.

Mike is a really good professor. His lecture is a bit boring but extremely caring. He would explain everything clearly if you have any questions. Be attentive and you will get a 4.0.

He is very nice and old. He has some problem with new tech stuff, so he doesn't use CANVAS at all. Tests are not hard as long as you study all things. The lecture is not that important, but you better attend for your test. There is a classwork once a week. It's easy and you are allowed to do it with classmates.

Comment:

He reads off his notes but if you listen and follow how he does the problems then you will pass this class. For me his teaching is very clear and easy to understand. The exercises on notes are really important; sometimes he does class work to turn in so it's better not to skip class.

You can expect him to read off of Powerpoint slides and dodge fundamental questions like a well-versed politician. This is an easy class if you know how to plug values into a calculator. The grading is done by a robot. If you want to know what you're actually doing and where these formulas and numbers are coming from, don't take this class.

Comment:

Mike is the easiest teacher, period. I took his class for math credit to count towards my sociology degree. I showed up to class about 10% of the time, he didn't know my name and I got a B+. Granted, my dad is an accountant and I'm naturally pretty good at math, but most of the material is online. You don't have to go to class, you're welcome.

Personally I have always struggled in math, but manage to still pass. I felt that taking Mr. Moran's class I didn't struggle as much as I usually do in math, which was refreshing. He goes over homework assignments to make sure everyone understands which is great. His tests are very short and also allows people to have cheat sheets. Great guy!

I really loved Professor Moran. At first i was worried because he struggles with technology and using webassign, but he is a great teacher! He is super clear in his lectures and very helpful. He will answer any question in class and tons of homework questions. He allows students to use notes on exams. Overall he is a great professor!

Comment:

90% 4.0 Explains things very clearly. Tests are extremely short and easy. All based on past homework with some slight variations, and you are allowed one page of notes, and you can drop the lowest test score. I usually get D's and C's on my math exams, but with Prof. Moran's tests I get A's and B+'s. Super easy. I highly recommend taking him.

Material is dense and difficult to retain... UNTIL you meet the likes of Prof. Moran! Super Cool, w a PHENOMENAL background! I'm gagging he chose to teach here! He's the GENIUS you dream to get that can make the most complex material easy breezy. You need to go to class and do the homework but he will support you to a great grade! Univ. Level Prof.

The subject of this class was very hard and tough for a lot of the people in the class, but he made it as easy to understand as possible. There is a lot of homework and assignments for the class. But he is a fair grader and gives a lot of feedback when asked.

Easy grader, Nice teacher, Loves his job. If you want the grades, take his class and listen to everything as he explains. Still not the best in clarifying doubts. So your loss if you don't pay attention. Few of the concepts weren't so clear to me in class, so they gave me hard time doing assignments, but got through them on my own. I have my 4.0
