She was the WORST teacher I have ever had. She does not teach you anything and she has no clue what she is talking about. Her lectures consist of reading slides and when you ask her question she just tells you to read the book. If you want an A in the class you have to teach yourself. DO NOT TAKE HER!

Comment:

Mimi was a great professor and was very helpful during class. I personally would have chosen NO ONE ELSE to be my professor in accounting. I earned MY "A" in the class, she just didn't give them out like other professors! Not to mention she's so pretty! It makes it a lot easier to pay attention. Take her, you won't regret it!

She is soooo lost. Her lectures are sad/funny. Sad, because she doesn't know what she is doing and funny because she was hired to teach something she isn't sure about. I question her accounting experience. She is a nice lady tho. Good luck to those who brave her class and don't already know accounting.

No, it's not impossible to get an A in her class if you're smart. That still doesn't make showing up, reading slides word-for-word, not knowing how to do the homework without looking at the answers, being condescending towards undergrad students, being unaware of the test contents the day before. Unacceptable. Shouldn't be teaching at UH.

She cannot teach, she doesn't prepare for anything. She lost students' homework and give out the wrong grade even though she acknowledge it and promise to fix it but never will. You have to go to the Dean to get it fix. Shame to school whose hired her and great loss and waste of time to students who took her class. Stay away from her class.

This course was hard not because of Mimi, but because the material is difficult. This is the weed-out class for accounting. I mean Dr. Harris' class avg was only a couple of points higher than Mimis. I came out with an A and never even met Dr. Harris. If you are not disciplined and smart to begin with, don't take this class period!

I take the comments here with a grain of salt - but trust me you WILL regret taking this professor if you choose to ignore the negativity here. She is unable to answer ?'s on the spot, and has a hard time lecturing in a meaningful way - just reads of the slides. You will learn better, and get a better grade in Dr. Harris' class.

Dr. Mimi has no business being a teacher. She reads from slides that she did not create, rarely answers questions, just says she doesn't understand what we are asking. She doesn't make her own tests and does not know any information that will be on the tests. Avoid at all costs!

She has personality, but she is a horrible teacher. When she is working problems on the board, she HAS to use her answer key, and then cannot explain herself. She also doesn't do ANYTHING she says she is going to do. The morning of the exam, we still didn't know where the exam was being held, and she never posted the review that she said she would.

Based on the previous reviews and you still want to take mimi?s class, then you must be stupid. She is the worst professor in the history.She doesn't prepare for class/explain materials/know how to do exercises without looking at her answer sheet! If you want to get passing grade or better and save your oney, avoid her as far as you can!

Tons of real world accounting experience. Complete lack of people skills. If you read her slides several times and understand a cash flow report, you will get a good grade. I plan to avoid taking another of her classes.

She is pretty much like the others have reviewed. Terrible at teaching and ineffective in delivering the subject matter. She wastes time with irrelevant jokes and references to her time in London School of Business. She is knowledgable in Accounting but does not translate to being a good teacher.

I didn't think she was a very good teacher. She reads directly of the PPT slides, which are very unorganized and just plain horrible, but you have to go over them for the exams. She is also not very good at answering questions in class. It's true you don't NEED the text book, but it helped me a lot. I had to do a lot of self teaching.

No need to purchase textbook. Slides can be a bit confusing but all exams questions come from her slides or notes. She does not answer questions effectively. Self taught a lot of the material with help from other classmates. An A is doable but does require a lot of studying and paying attention to the details. Quiz is super easy. Exams not so much

There are 2 exams worth 40% each and a quiz worth 20%. The first exam and the quiz are relatively easy, the quiz questions are the same as the questions on the quiz CD. But the final is a bit harder. This is an okay class if you know how to self teach, her lectures are not that helpful, she just reads of the slides which one can do by themselves.

She is so lost. She can only lecture what is prepared. For questions during the class, she can barely answer. Most questions were answered by classmates rather than her. I'm surprised when she's assigned to teach MBA course.
