Usually classes that are easy to do we well in, I often also feel I didn't learn that much. Not in this case. Grading is easy and straightforward. Miranda is affable and very friendly. Basically the class consists of weekly readings and writing summaries. Each class, we just discuss that weeks reading. Readings are very short and usually engaging.

Not as easy as before, but still manageable to get 4.0. Offers extra credit which really does help your GPA. Weekly writing assignments are really annoying, but it helps for writing three main essays. Also, you have to go to discussion every week to receive points. However, the lecture was very inspirational and great. I really enjoyed this class.

She gives extra credit if you get 99% or 98% iclicker questions right. There is no quizzes or exams. Short response about 500 words every week. And three essays. The creative project will be given full points. It's easy to pass but if you take it as graded, you need to put effort in. It is not hard. GSIs and Mrs. Brown are extremely willing to help

Awesome professor with entertaining lectures. Make sure you use your laptop to ace the iClicker questions (she gives extra credit) The weekly assignments can get a bit repetitive sometime. Also go to office hours to get essay feedback / advice. I would definitely take this class if you want a good grade. Requires minimal effort for 4 credits.

easiest class I have ever taken at UM. You get 5% just for going to every lecture, which basically makes it out of 105. 3, 3 page short papers and a creative project (got a 100/100 on it). There are weekly reading questions but I just did them in lecture because well I had to go to lecture to get the extra credit! everyone i knew in it got an A+

The class is easy but work is involved. Readings every week for a weekly HW. GSI's heavily determine these grades - I had a hard GSI so I had to put effort into the HW. 5% extra credit is given if attended all lectures! I recommend having Miranda check your essay, she's an easy grader & Miranda is one of the most adorable prof ever!! I <3 her. #FTW

She's a nice professor. It is fun to have her lecture and I really enjoy her question discussion part during the lecture. She answers students' questions clearly. Overall, a very fun class~ Btw, if you attend all the lecture, you get 3% bonus points for your final grade.

An interesting and fairly easy class. She is kind of flakey and brings up personal issues but knows a lot and wants to be helpful. Final paper requires several drafts but an easy grader.

Her lectures are boring and you won't learn much of anything. Once people realized that attendance was not mandatory in order to get an A, they didn't show and then she made it mandatory. Most people just surf the web. You really don't have to do the readings for the course, just do the paper topic readings. Waste of time but an easy A.

The class is really the history of medicine taught by comparing ancient Chinese and ancient Greek/Roman practices. Value of discussion depends on student participation. Paper subjects were interesting. You will take out what you're willing to put in.

This class was not difficult at all. You have to attend lecture and do two presentations. You also have two paper drafts worth 10% of your grade each and two final drafts worth 20% each. Discussions are boring but you can be proactive and engage in it. She's a cool person with personal issues but don't let that stop you from taking the class.

I love this woman! She's pretty funny, considering ancient Chinese history is not, and she was really nice and helpful. There were only four 750 word papers and two 10-minute PowerPoints (pass-fail!) in discussion. It was a great class, and everybody should take it! Love it!

The workload is very light - only four 500 word papers. You definitely do not need to read as assigned as long as you study the question you are writing about. I learned close to nothing from this class.

grades are based on two take home essays 50% each. discrimatory grading by gsi's and no chance of a regrade. lectures and discussion don't help you in any way.
