I learned a great deal from him. Each class meeting was worthwhile and consisted of in-depth discussions of readings and current events. Be prepared to contribute to the conversation, especially when it's a small class. This is the type of professor for students who genuinely enjoy learning.

The class is not that hard if you show up and take good notes. If you dont go to classes on a regualr basis, you will fail this class. MAke sure to read the book by Soe, the one by Shivley isnt that important. the tests seem really hard but he curves a lot, so make sure to see your grade before you drop the class.

He totally sucked. We were supposed to have a "self-directed" class, but he did ALL the directing. We were supposed to be able to choose a topic to learn about and how to present, and he chose the topic and format. He is TOTALLY arrogant. A real jerk. Avoid him unless u like being talked down to. Treats students as if they are stupid.

He brags and brags on how he went to oxford and that he is the department Chairperson. Not very helpful and his ego is too big to box with god. His test are geared to make u fail it. It's as if he is challenging you to pass his test. Very insecure person. If you can take this class somewhere else do so. Don't take him.

He is intelligent, but wants communication in class and then makes you feel silly if you don't know exactly what he wants you to say. He definitely knows his stuff. His exams are very hard, and the only reason students get decent grade is because of the curve. Have to KNOW everything that you read to have a chance.

I loved this professor! He is a very intelligent man, you will learn a great deal if you go to class and pay attention to his lectures. Material is not easy, but interesting. This class has sparked a new interest in politics for me.

Milani is very intelligent and I enjoyed his class. His grading scale is nice and his lectures aren't boring. I too had the class for 3 hours once a week and it wasn't bad at all. I highly reccomend him.

I took Dr. Milani's comparative politics class 4 years ago my freshman year, he is amazing and balanced, even though he is a Berkely grad he gives proper respect for all viewpoints except the ignorant ones. He was on my Thesis committee and he was insightful and a true scholar!

I didn't find this class easy, but I took it two years ago. I really thought he was smart and interesting though and I really enjoyed listening to him. He wasn't boring at all, which is ALWAYS a plus.
