Naida was a *wonderful* person. However, her intro-level course was not intro-level when I took her class back in the 1990s. Students needed some serious background in music theory just to get by; I was coming in with a non-classical theory and was out to sea with Bach and Palestrina, & I was totally lost. Maybe she's changed her approach since...

helpful and understanding prof who truly desires success for her students.You can redo assignments if you don't understand the material. I have previous music training, so the class was easy.If you don't, though, you will have to put in a HUGE effort. Be forewarned you have ear training quizzes and a sight singing quiz at the end of the year.

I found Naida to be really helpful and nice and understanding at first, but then she seemed to pick favourites and cater to their needs more than the rest of the class. She's good if you have a detailed knowledge of theory, but not so hot for a beginner.
