Dr. Becker was my pharmacology professor 19 years ago. I got an A in the class because I worked for it. Even back then he had a reputation for failing people and I was terrified of taking his class. He turned out to be one of my all time favorite professors! He expects you to LEARN not regurgitate information.

I heard so many horror stories from past students and I was terrified before I even knew what he looked like. So on that note I read and came to class prepared. He called me out a couple of times but I did my best to answer he could tell I read so he was not mean to me at all. I passed with a B.

I took this class online, got an "A" and considered him to be no help whatsoever. There was basically no communication with the guy...if you posted a question in the forum he would take a week to get back to you or not at all. Forget about asking something you need to know prior to the test unless you do it when the module first begins..

This class is hard when it is taught to you but it is even harder when you have a teacher that gets paid to not teach. Just stand up in front of you and make his jokes, oh and he does not come to have the classes. This is one class that you pay for to teach yourself.

I learned more from Dr. Becker than any other teacher I've had in a long time. he's hard, for sure, but he wants to make sure you learn the stuff and not just memorize crap for the test. I wish I could take my whole curriculum from him!!

Dr Becker is a great teacher but expect to do some real work to pass his class he is not going to just give it to you, all the people who complained obviously did not want to put the time in to get a good grade, it can be done!

This man is a HARD teacher, you HAVE to study. He will make sure you have learned what you need to know to pass the boards when it comes to medicine. Guaranteed! If you aren't prepared..get ready to look like a fool. Thats how he gets people to come to class prepared. You won't blow this professor off..he is not an easy grade,like so many others.

This would be a great class IF he actually TAUGHT it - the "monographs" are full of unecessary $10 words-it's unimpressive and so is he-If he's so superior, why is there a tutor scheduled after EVERY class for double the time the class period is? This subject is too important to have this indifferent bully at the helm - he's a joke as an "educator"

I'd hurd a lot about him before taking the class. I went in with an open mind and found him not that bad. Is he the best instructor at Sinclair, no. Is he the worst, no. It get's much worse than Dan Becker. Some of the actual nursing classes are way harder so get used to it. Just don't take him with any other class and work hard.

Please stop complaining this is a hard class! All of us will be healthcare professionals one day and if you whine this class is hard and he's mean...maybe you need to pick a different career. Just do your readings, just like any other classes. I'm so sick of people complaining about him, but just remember, those people are just lazy!

I went in dreading this class and must admit that he can be overbearing. However, I ended up liking him as a professor. If you do and understand his monographs you will do fine. Come to class prepared, he doesn't get snippy. I learned a LOT from Dan Becker and still recall much of it now. I would get this out of the way prior to NSG courses.

Took his class online last year. Did well...just read and read and read. Do the study guides he puts in there! Do the practice exams online, it's worth it! Had trouble with test #2...but once I got it it was fine. I still think about the things I learned in that class everday and I'm in 222 now.

I took this class online. We started with about 60 students in the class. Final grades- 1 A, 2 B's, ~15 C's, and the rest D's & F's. I can't remember how many students were still in the class at the end of the quarter- maybe around 45. I had a high C and am happy with it. Don't take it with another demanding class. Study, study, study.

I did pass the class the first time but I still thought he was mean and rude. I really wish Sinclair would offer another instructor to choose from for pharm. It is not fair that we have no other options than becker. How does he get away with it and who would ever say they enjoyed that class, its a mystery to me.
