Comment:

He is very passionate and inspirational. I would take him again in a heart beat. You do not need the book, he will tell you that if you don't read it you won't pass, but I swear I never even cracked it open and passed the first test with a 100 and the final with a 96. He expects you to go to 4 concerts, which is fair since the tests are so easy.

TAKE HIM! He is a great teacher. Two tests, you take the final over a month before school ends. Must attend 4 concerts, and must attend class. He's super chill! I dunno if this is normal, but he offered our class a bonus opportunity that can raise your grade a letter, if you need it. SO EASY.

I loved Dr. Rutman! He deserves a lot more respect from students than he gets, though. He is passionate about music, and he makes you want to be passionate as well. A midterm and final (pretty easy, he gives the notes for them) and attend 4 concerts, no papers for them though. We had about 3 weeks of no class throughout the semester. Take him!

Such a nice guy. Very easy class. Attendance is mandatory. You attend four performances but that is required for all music app classes. Overhead notes are word for word on the test. Cancels class a lot and gives final early. Very easy

Rutman believes that this a gen ed class. You have to go to six concerts (he makes a few triple credit), but you do not have to write papers on the concerts. Class attendance is mandatory, but he tends to cancel class often. Also, our midterm was around three weeks before other midterms and our final is the week before thanksgiving. Rutman is good

I took the final in this class around the time I took my midterm in the others. Super nice guy. He says over and over you'll need your book and makes you have it, but tests are ONLY over the notes he has on the projector. Also, he gives plenty of bonus opportunity (though NO ONE should need it). You must go to three concerts out of class too.

THE EASIEST class I have ever taken! 2 tests worth 80%,attendance= 10% and have to attend 3 recitals= 10%.DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! He keeps telling that you wont pass the tests unless you read the book, but the tests are STRAIGHT from the OVERHEAD NOTES! All you have to do for the tests is just memorize the EASY overhead notes!Nothing else! Super easy!

He is the best teacher ever!! You must go to class everyday to take notes. Only 2 test which are word for word from the notes! so if you miss a day of notes borrow them from someone. This class only lasted a total of like five weeks we ended early and got like half the semester off!! he also offers extra credit! TAKE THIS CLASS

This was by far the easiest class that I've ever had. He's very nice and tries to be interesting. He also lets you take your final like a month early so you get the last month of the semester off. DEF TAKE THIS TEACHER!!

I don't think I've ever been taught by someone THIS passionate about the subject. He's amazing to listen to, PLUS - All you have to do is attend 3 concerts, take the notes he gives you off the projector (Not many notes at all) and those are exactly what are on the 2 tests. We ended class at the beginning of November, too. :)

Very easy, go to class and take the few notes, the notes are exact same as the test, He shortens class and then you take the final really early, only two tests so make sure you look over the notes before the test, go to concerts and you should get an A

TAKE THIS CLASS!! He puts a few points on the overhead @ the end of class, & they are the exact answers to the 2 tests. You don't have to do the readings b/c his tests are seriously off the overhead. I read through my notes a few times before the tests and made 100's.. We got to come to class 15 minutes late every day & took the final Nov 3rd!

Easy and fun class!! Work load is REALLY light. YOu will get an A if you just go to class and take notes. Majority of his test questions are directly from the transparencies shown in class.

This is the easiest class I took at UCA. He's a pretty cool guy. I had him on TTH and his lectures only last 50min max. Be sure to take notes at the end of class if you want to ace the test. We only had 1 test and 1 final. Class average on test is an A.
