This class requires a huge amount of time outside of class. You will have to plan shooting and, to a lesser extent, editing time according to interviews, your schedule and your partner's schedule. The class work itself is not bad. But the time needed for projects is killer!

great professor, really interesting, i loved his class!!! learning how to edit and use the cameras was a challenge, but its really going to help your career in the end. the quizzes are easy if you are up to date with the news-and read the assigned chapters.he has great stories about when he was a reporter in tampa and teaches you what you need know

He's not a "great" teacher by any stretch of the imagination. Many students were confused after he "explained" assignments. He also has a tendency to deflect blame from himself when people don't understand him along with a tendency to moralize a bit. C-

the class is not that bad as long as you keep up and study when given the work. the lab will take up a lot of time but it gives you hands on experience. neil is a great teacher.

There is a lot of out of class work involved in this course. Much of your time will be spent working on the lab projects, which don't actually account much towards your grade. Overall you do learn a lot as long as you attend EVERY lab.
