He make us do more busy work with research instead of actually teaching. I quote he told us in class hed rather be doing research than teaching us. Nice guy but not a very good teacher.

Here's the thing--Dr. Boer lectures from the eyes of a fitness professional. If you are expecting a neat, cookie-cutter lesson plan each day, you will not succeed. The key to this class is putting in the work outside of class. Watch his video lectures and do you best work on EVERY assignment, and come to class prepared to participate.

He changed teaching style this semester. He cancelled all lectures and post videos of him reading slides. Assignments are unclear, and due dates are wrong/changed a lot. Breaks the class into groups to have small discussions, where you get participation points for talking. He rambles on in discussions about nothing. Test are difficult. Confusing

Dr. Boer was in charge of an intro class last semester that I had to take for my major. The class was terribly disorganized; which I can't really blame on Dr. Boer. The problem was that the information on the quizzes was not in the reading material they provided. Dr. Boer is my adviser and has not answered an email of mine since I started here.

No textbook. Every week, someone comes in from a job you can do with an Exercise Science degree. 6 quizzes, one due every other week and not hard at all. Required to do a service learning project, a minimum of 2 hours with proof. Must purchase TopHat to be counted in attendance to class. Overall, easy class. Recommend!

Dr. Boer was a good professor every time I had a question or had to talk to him he was always there to answer me. For my class there were 6 quizzes which were online and attendance was mandatory. He wasn't in class everyday there were different professors that came in to lecture the class.

Dr. Boer is a great professor. He really cares about his students and is willing to help in anyway possible. His classes aren't extremely hard but you do have to put some effort into them. He's a great HHP advisor too. Overall one of the BEST HHP professors at UTC!

He has gone out of his way to make the transition from a pre-PT to a F/W major easier. He cares about students and their well being. I have learned a lot from his classes. He was always available as an advisor. Very good instructor.

I have had Dr.Boer for several classes. He is a good teacher. The course material is difficult, but his goal is for students to learn the material, so he was always available for extra help and he is very fair with his tests and grading. I agree with a previous post, take Dr.Boer's section instead of Dr. Olgesby.

Very good teacher. He relates to his students and he helps as much as possible. He is not by any means an easy teacher ... he is tough but he is fair and the way he teaches MAKES you learn the material. I try to schedule him for any EHLS class I can.

Dr. Boer is a great professor, good lectures, fair tests. Never take Dr. Oglesby for 317- make sure you take it from Dr. Boer. He is a much better teacher, much smarter and certainly much nicer. Dr. Boer wants his students to learn and is always willing to help a student.
