I took his class online and he didn't tell me that I had been doing the wrong assignments for the first 7 weeks of class... when I asked if I could make them up he said no and that I should have understood the course. He wouldn't let me make anything up even though I had worked diligently and turned in every other assignment. And he's rude.

Dont get me wrong, hes a nice guy, thats not the issue, but for a class thats primarily online he seems to go on tangents about certain chapters when in reality everyone in class is on a different chapter and going at their own pace so some of these people have either seen this chapter hes ranting about; weeks ago, or theyll see it in weeks

I feel really bad saying this because this guy is a very nice human being but I hated just about every second of this class. This professor is very boring and oftentimes goes out of order on things and it is very hard to follow. There was never much explanation on anything and I always felt very confused.

From the beginning, he was not clear on expectations or giving us direction at all. Mostly just lectures the whole period whether you're working on that section or not. Tests are a huge percentage of the grade and in a class designed for people who struggle with math, that really frustrated me & hurt my grade. You're on your own with this one.

His class was so boring. He never tells us what we will be doing in class, he just writes on the board random problems that has nothing to do with what we were doing currently. I almost failed his class because he is so unorganized and never tells us what we will be doing, we're just left on our own not knowing what to do.

Bit of an odd character, but I think that adds to his charm. He makes everything easy to understand and there's no one else I think I would have rather had for this class. Couldn't recommend more.

I had Oscar for 3 semesters now and Ive never done good in math until I had him. He breaks things down so well and makes sure everything is as understandable as possible. He always is open for questions. Starting class always with any questions.. and also asking after each new subject mat. He is understanding and very funny. 10/10 do recommend.

Talks in ways not everyone understands.... tough grader! My "notebook" wasn't labeled enough but showed plenty of work and note taking and yet I got a 2/10. Math isn't my strong subject and with little things like that holding me back it's like he's looking forward to seeing you fail. He also seems less than interested if you ask questions!

Very hard professor to understand and learn from. Gave out several pop quizzes on days when students leave in the last ten minutes of class. Seems like a good guy out of class but my god it's horrible to learn math from him. Only a very few grades get entered in the book and when they do, they either make or break the bank.

Tough class but GREAT PROF! He really challenges each student to think critically and apply what they've learned in new and different ways. Attending every class is a must so that you are able to keep up. He is a fair grader and always willing to help you out. He also cares about the success of every student.

Comment:

Took online class. Software was very easy to work with and it was a self-paced class. Not easy and involved 3-4 hrs of work a night, but I was able to finish the class in 7 weeks. Again, it took a lot of work to do this, but I did and was very glad for his flexibility and willingness to allow his students to work ahead and finish early.

Professor Neal is a tough grader. He expects you to do your homework, but doesn't give you credit for doing it. The only credit I received during this course was group projects and tests. I really wish he had a more in depth syllabus. Don't get me wrong, he's a really nice guy, just a tough teacher.

He's a nice guy but avoid his class at all costs. His notes kinda line up with homework assignments but it's not clear how to do the homework. Having a stats class on the computer is near impossible. Not sure why he chose this format.

I took this as a hybrid. It was very easy, laughably so, at some points. He's very good teacher loves the subject and has a passion for learning, loves what he does. Teaches based on student questions.

Mr Neal was my favorite professor to date. If you don't understand something, he will continue to explain it in different ways until you understand. When asked "Where will I need this in real life?", he explained where it would be used in real world terms...

This guy is very nice. He is always in a good mood and happy. However, he is far to laid back to motivate you and very useless when struggling Students can get an A in his course but you have to Be independly learning it all. He tries hard if you ask in front of the class, but now 1 on 1 he just kind of stares at you and doesn't tackle questions
