Comment:

I dropped after a couple of weeks. I'd like to take this class again, just with a different instructor. One of my first problems was with the way she ran the online class. Everything was misplaced, and the assignments were unclear. The way she gave feedback on assignments was also insane. Wouldn't take her class again.

Comment:

She's the hardest grader I've had, and this is easily the hardest class I've taken. Not much help when it comes to feedback, and very opinionated. Too much busy work, I've spent hours doing the readings and chapters and it's very repetitive. Easily the worst experience at NHCC.

Comment:

She made this class difficult as possible. A lot of reading, a lot of homework, quizzes are tricky. This class look like 5 credit not 3 credits. She do not give extra credit, she don't let you fix your grade. If you still pick her, be ready to do 3,4 homework and a really hard quiz. I did work really hard. Disappointed.

This is just a horrible teacher, she found ways to railroad me no matter how hard I tried. Withdrawn to say the least and, not very helpful.

There is WAY too much reading in this class and assignments. You have to read chapters in the textbook as well as other reading for 3 different assignments a week from the internet. I stopped caring in this class because I put a lot of effort in my responses and I was always wrong. She has opinions and yours don't really matter.

Be prepared to work in this class. I took her online and we had a assignment due every week plus a two quiz's. Some of her material is a bit wordy and not easy to understand but she is helpful if you email her. She also gives good feedback. If you think she'll just give you a A not going to happen you have to work for it.

I took her online class, it was difficult to get started, her assignments and readings were a bit scattered and hard to find. There is a lot of reading but the assignments are fairly easy if you read the material. She will give good feedback if you are struggling. Not overly friendly but knows her stuff.

DO NOT PICK HER she is crazy, she hands out waaaay too much homework & reading assignments. The ch. alone are 30+ pages, then she gives you 10-15 articles that are like 6-10 pages long a piece, and asks questions A-F about your reading, and makes you summarize, and I'm like dang lady, I have other classes too, I can't spend my life reading for you!

Gave too much unnecessary homework/material. She grades the homework unfairly. Gives out C's when it should be B's or A's on the homework. I hate her class and can't wait to be done taking this class. Don't take her! Only her answers are right or there are no other right answers.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! The assignments are very unclear and the whole class is poorly laid out. It is very hard to follow and does not have very clear expectations. Unfortunately this class was a requirement for me. I haven't gotten below an A in any class and I am currently sitting at 75% in her class.

DO NOT take SOC 1110 online. The # of written assignments is ridiculous! 18 written assignments total averaging 3-4 pages/assignment + weekly discussions, chapter tests, textbook & additional reading. Averaged 20+ hours/week. I have taken many online courses from several schools (U of M, UWEC, NHCC) & never had one this demanding before!

This class was awful. The assignments were unclear and was just busy work that did not help learn the material. It's a 3 credit course with homework for a 5 credits course. If you email Pam about a question, her answers are vague and unhelpful. Her readings she has typed up have endless errors and typos. Bottom line, take with someone else!!!

Be prepared to read not only the textbook but also the lectures. The class is disorganized , such as not clear instructions on certain assignments . Also she does not provide extra credit so if you're a .5 or 1% off from the next letter grade good luck you are stuck with the grade. I would not recommend this class unless you have to take it.

Too much reading material. Picky grader. Grade is not broken down into different weights. Unclear feedback. Mighty tough tests. You can study hard and still do poorly because of her picky grading and unrelated tests.

Nice lady, but she gives out WAY TOO MUCH READING MATERIAL! This is an elective class but the amount of reading is ridiculous. Also, your grade is based on the amount of points you earn out of ALL points from assignments and tests. They aren't categorized into different weights, which hurts your grade since she is a picky grader.
