good class and professor overall. The Good Life is terrible so to anyone considering this replacement I would highly recommend. Its a decent amount of work but nothing that is hard or should keep you up at night.

She's very caring. I took Judaism and Politics. It's a range of very different cases, so a bit of a hodge podge. Israel, Jews in Tunisia, South America, and even China. Cases connect through the Holocaust. Very moving in different ways. Loved the Anne Frank play script class reading. That was amazing. She let us share personal experience.

Have to add to the positive reviews. Music major. Loved this class. Great way to learn history and politics and society and humanities all mixed into one. Perspectives through film and great works of fiction. If you don't like it, don't take the class. I loved it. So did everyone I know who took the class. Who are these people(haters)?

How can you complain about a class based on movies and great fiction? Even if you don't like the movies (which would be strange), the books are great works that everyone should know anyway. Identity theories that I didn't know but everyone should. What are you complaining about? Physics major. Loved this class.

Class is a lot of fun. We laugh a lot. Learned so much about identity and different perspectives from other parts of the world. Don't think the people below really took the class. You can't say anything bad about it. Writing skills. Reading skills. Public speaking skills. Plus the substance is there. Great texts. This is a great class.

I took the Quest class. I totally disagree with haters below. Feedback is great. Why would she leave the classroom? That is bizarre. Lectures are great, short. Allows student discussion & presentations to lead class, but she leads us where she wants us to go. Inspirational. She's very funny. Learned a lot! She makes it feel easy. Have to read.

I took this class as a substitution for Good Life, and while it is definitely less work than Good Life, I did not enjoy this class at all. It has no clear direction or curriculum and is basically whatever she feels like talking about that day. Long lectures unrelated to course that impede on presentation time. Fairly easy workload though.

She cares that you learn, but goes off on long tangents every class. Never leaves room for students to talk. You have to show up to class, and follows the schedule loosely. The course load is not heavy but you will have to read a lot. Your papers and presentations would be graded and there is very little feedback on what to do better.

She really cares that we learn. She gives just as much attention to B- students as to A+ students. I started with a B- in all my papers. She gave me so much feedback that I am getting a B+ in the class. Really learned to write and to read texts for details. Don't take if you don't want to work. Lots of papers. Great for law school.

I took this class with low expectations, and was really pleasantly surprised. I learned a lot about politics at the micro level. Learned about how different perspectives can be in different parts of the world, like Mongol and Genghis Khan as a hero in Asia. Fun films, popular flicks not only art film. Very organized. Clear expectations from day 1.

I loved this class. You get to watch movies in class & read novels that I probably never would have chosen. We learned to find the micro-level politics in the movies & novels, where I probably would not have seen politics before this class. Heavy emphasis on writing & analysis. That was hard, but fun. Learned to appreciate culture & politics.

Awesome class. Tough reading. She walks you through it so you can understand it. She teaches you to write at a professional-level. Gives LOTS of feedback on papers. Everybody was writing at a completely different level by the end of class. Don't take the class if you don't want to work hard. Great class for law school prep. Analytical skills!

This class was super confusing and unorganized at the beginning. Have to actually do ur readings if u want to do well in class. Most of the time we taught ourselves, we'd be the one presenting on the readings in class or waiting to be called out to talk about the readings, she rarely lectured. You'll get an A if you're willing to put in the work

Would not recommend this class. Very disorganized. Don't expect to know what's going on prior to class because she changes her mind frequently. If you are just looking for the grade, go for it. The class is pretty paper heavy but it's possible to get an A. If you want to actually learn something, look elsewhere.

Warning: The final is a group project but you are graded on your assigned part only so it's not too bad. The class itself is discussion heavy but pretty easy. A good intro class and a good accessible professor.

Took this class online. Relatively easy if you do the study guides for the quizzes and exams. The group project, which is a large portion of your grade, is super confusing . She doesn't provide much clarification on how to do the group project, so make sure you get started early enough in case there is confusion.

This is one of the best classes I have ever taken at UF. At your pace, two quizzes and two exams. Professor is always available by email or phone. I called about a problem I was having with the reading and she spent a half hour on the phone with me from the West coast to talk me through it. The books are hard, but her lectures walk you through.

This class is an easy A. It consists of 2 open-note quizzes (3 tries each), 2 open-note exams (2 tries each), and a group project. Only annoying thing is the professor would take forever to respond to e-mails or sometimes not respond at all. The group project is confusing so try to get as much clarification as you can. Both textbooks are mandatory.

Overall easy class. 6 Assignments make up entire grade (2 quizzes, 2 exams, 2 group projects). All open note/open book. You can take the quizzes 3 times and exams twice. No need to open textbook, quizzes/exams straight from lectures. So easy I didn't even watch the lectures most of the time. The group project is reasonable. Easy A.
