Comment:
Do not take GLY1102 at UF. The structure of this course is incredibly confusing. You are required to download an archaic software to your computer, on which all of your assignments are located. None of your grades are recorded on canvas. Information about the course is hard to find seeing as it is spread out in various places. This class is a mess.

Don't take this class if you want an easy A; you won't get one! The software is so outdated and ridiculous to deal with. The professor is non-existent and makes it clear he does not want to be bothered. Beware! I strongly urge that you take something else!

Easy A class. the program he uses is a bit difficult at first when you don't know how to use it. once you figure it out you're set. i did all my work ahead of time. chapter quiz weekly (you can google), 2 projects that are small but you google everything, practice midterm and final and actual midterm and final (again found online) Definitely take!

By far the worst class (with the WORST professor) I have taken at UF. I took this class because it met the requirements for a credit I needed, but it was such a mistake. The program used for this class is literally impossible to figure out, and Dr. Ciesielski makes it very clear he doesn't want to offer help or be bothered. Don't take this class!!!

The Faulkner software he uses is super outdated and hard to use. It's very obvious that he doesn't like to be bothered, and the customer service for the software is the worst I've ever encountered. Way too much very specific information to memorize for a 1000 level class, which make exams even harder than those in my 4000+ level classes.

The class itself is fairly easy. It consists of open book practice questions, a practice midterm, midterm, practice final and a final. If you take this class online you are pretty much on your own. He was basically absent and not all that helpful. He does not like to be bothered and expresses that in the syllabus and repeatedly in announcements.

Seems to be a very nice man and wants to be helpful,. Doesn't seem to respond to students very fast or at all sometimes. Faulkner Media is far from desirable. People who answer phone give you canned answers without listening. Midterm and final proctored by ProctorU. No other assignments. A great deal of material to memorize for 1000 level class.

An inadequate professor in every way. Doesn't care about the student actually learning anything. Just here for his paycheck. SAD! The software was a ridiculous waste of time & money. Even the software support person said they can't believe anyone is still using this outdated, glitchy garbage. UF, I expect more from you. Such a disappointment.

Nice professor. Will answer any question. However, no matter how hard one studies, the tests, which are proctored, are very difficult. I read, read, studied, reviewed, and I still felt very unprepared for his exams. I did enjoy the material. So unfortunate. Could've been an awesome class for a Geology major.

I took this class online during the summer. The textbook is a software you have to buy so you have to take notes by hand. This class is too hard for a 1000 level class. You cannot use notes on the midterm or final since it is Proctored - ridiculous. However, I failed the midterm and final and still got a B in the class. Quizlet will help with hw.

I took this online and hated it. There were only a final and a midterm and practice questions in the gradebook. You have to do well on the tests to pass the class. There was way too much information and too detailed questions for a 1000 level course. The entire class is reading online book, there are no lectures. Way too time consuming for 1000 lvl

Easy A besides the fact that the TA's are the ones who grade group projects. Not really sure what this professor does, he didn't even have answers to questions. The software you have to purchase is $100 and outdated (not to mention frustrating to use). This class is easy but annoying & a pain in the ass. Take it if you have to but don't expect much

Pro: Extra credit, didn't need to go to class much Con: Everything else. The tests are insanely hard (though the non finals and midterms are easy to use quizlet for), and you are tested on SO MUCH CONTENT and its so specific and the worst. Do not take this.

Labs and tests cover none of the same material. Lab manual is absolutely useless to completing the labs and he answers e-mails about 1/3 of the time.

The textbook situation is less than ideal. an online textbook. You cannot print the pages to read at your leisure. Quizzes are taken online. About 18 of mine disappeared. Prof will only refer you to the publisher website. They DO NOT answer any inquiries about problems. They DO NOT have an online chat person there , had to redo them all.

The ebook is outdated, very slow to navigate. There's also no copy n paste function in there for notes, which I found necessary to study for tests. The tests require memorization of every detail, picture, and module. This class is essentially self-study with memorizing the ENTIRE textbook, and half the material isn't even on dinosaurs but rocks.

Worst online class I've ever taken. It wasn't even the class that was bad, it's the fact that the software used for it was so outdated it crashed almost every time I used it. The exams were easy when taken with a partner. Proctor U for the midterm and final, some how managed to get an A even though I did the math and it makes no sense.
