This professor provides a very interesting but professional course of instruction. Provides a lot of offbeat humor which tends to throw students off the lecture path. He tells you almost actually what is on the test. He will also extra credit the hell out of you. I love professors that provide these opportunities to excel in there class.

he is very helpful and clear when he goes over the material. You'll also like that he makes his classes interesting, not to mention funny at times. If you take this class you'll really enjoy it, although it's a lot of reading, if you keep up its quite easy to follow him.

He tells you exactly what will be on the test. Literally. He basically gives you the questions. As another commentor said, there is no excuse to not get at least a B in the class, and that's if you're slacking. Seems gruff at first, but is actually a personable, funny, interesting (if not a little bit crazy) guy. Get him into a political debate if you need some amusement.

History is my major. If you read the chapters, and prepare for the exams, it is impossible to not have learned and to have earned a good grade for the course. Cook's lectures are interesting and he is very knowledgeable. An ideal professor.
