Comment:
His lectures cover a lot of material and he goes over each slide very quickly. He was great to post the lecture slides before class, so I recommend copying down all of the lecture notes before class and then add in information as he elaborates on it in class. Would've been impossible to get all of the information otherwise. Very engaging speaker!

Paul makes the lectures fun but the content for the most part is super boring. There are 2 papers and a final exam. He says that the exam is only based on lecture slides however nothing I studied from the lecture slides seemed to be on the exam. Overall a great prof though - would take his class again.

Just don't. Unless you really care about anthropology and like bad jokes don't take this class. Especially in the morning, save yourself.

Super funny, interesting guy, good lectures. Material very heavy, definitely recommend going to class for this one. Bigger assignments but worth it if you work for it.

A fantastic prof who made a condensed summer course a very enjoyable experience. Super knowledgeable and passionate about anthropology, archaeology and related policy issues, it was a pleasure to be a part of the course. Minimum outside readings, a small paper and a final exam, he was a fair professor who was very accommodating for students.

Paul was amazing but the content was so dense that it was difficult to take it all in if you aren't good at memorization. The course was only 1 midterm, 1 paper and the exam so it was all dependant on your success on those. However, he is super passionate about the subject so that helps in regards to learning content!

It was difficult to know what he expected, it was difficult to link his lectures to his slides. Reading for the class was all online journal articles, staring into a white computer screen for hours and hours. The journal articles were of the most boring content that I have ever read. He is nice, ends class early, and he is quite funny.

Paul is a great prof. Took this course as an elective with no interest and he was always engaging, interesting and on point. Great speaker. His midterms and finals had very clear expectations, and if you attended class (or even not) you were well prepared. No curve balls. The paper (%40) was graded a bit more harshly by the T.A.'s unfortunately.

Paul Thibaudeau is a great professor. He has made what could have been an incredibly boring course, very interesting. There are readings in the course but there are not necessary since he puts all the information you need to know for the midterms and exams on the slides. Easy A if you come to class and read the slides in detail.

He tries too hard to be funny and doesn't succeed. He is often borderline offensive. His lectures are mostly details and facts, no theory, and the exam is entirely names, dates, facts. No guidance given on the essay whatsoever - just write about whatever you want. He doesn't assign any readings, so that's kind of a bonus, but I hated this class.

Paul is just amazing. Took Canadian Society with him at uOttawa, and his classes were fun, entertaining, and a blast overall. He taught the course with a more historical sort of perspective, which tied in well with the sociology components. He was a very sweet guy and seemed to genuinely love the job. Great energy and would 100% recommend!

Paul is frequently offensive, is often way off topic, and tests only on specific details that should not be important. He didn't seem to really teach anything, just gave a bunch of funny trivia and then tested us on it.

Fantastic class. The prof was funny and entertaining, making class a joy to attend. No textbook, optional readings, and the exam entirely based on the slides (posted online), so it wasn't even that hard. The paper was fun to write, too. I was also blessed with the most helpful TA on the planet, so I had a great experience in this class!
