If you don't like reading, don't take the class because you'll have to read at least one book a week. The readings aren't difficult but she is a very tough grader--I have yet to pass a quiz, and I've done every reading as assigned.

Her tests were very hard. She used them to make sure we did the readings. I never once skipped reading the book and took detailed notes and i still did not pass a single "reading quiz"

Decent grades on her quizes are a rarity. I have read every assignment and got 60 s on the majority of my quizes. Lot's of busy workprojects.

Quizzes suck almost asking to fail. Read a book a week and take a quiz where she expects you to write a novel for every answer and then fails you... She is a sweet lady but the class is a pain in the butt. I would choose another professor

Professor Cardinal is a very nice woman, but her course load is a quite a lot. We have quizzes very often which make up a significant portion of the grade. She's a very tough grader, but if you read and do the work you should be fine in the class.

Absolutely hated the class even though I was one of her favorites. The amount of time I put into the class was insane, and even though I got an A I'm still leaving dissatisfied. I basically learned nothing other than how to do my work so that she would like it. Unless you are willing to drive yourself insane, do not take this class.

In the process of complete this class with an 85 average. if you do the work you get the grade as simple as that. you dont do her work, and dont come to class. you fail. ONLY complaint is her obsession with accusing people of plagarism. WATCH OUT she doesnt mess around with it.

Yes, she is strict and also a little old fashioned and stuck to her ways. Yes, she did make my life slightly miserable BUT when my alarm didn't go off and I slept though all but the last 15 minutes of the final exam and I thought she was going to fail me for sure, she was miraculously sympathetic AND soothing. So I promise you, she not all bad.

I WAS one of her favorites and still hated this class. She sucks the marrow out of literature until it's pale and dusty. Her books were ancient, and so was her teaching method. It's her way or the highway, kids. (un)fortunately, I know her game so I did well. But it was a hollow victory, as every minute was a waste. She seemed nice outside of class

Hated the class. She took the fun of literature right out of the class, had favorites, hates some, very critical, poor teaching style, no one likes her class, learned nothing. I get A's in every other class but hers? She accuses everyone of plagiarism! I would NOT take another one with her, too much work for level. You think what she thinks or fail

I DID all the work, FINISHED the poetry project and read all the books. I did all MY OWN research and I was Falsely accused of plagerism and threatened with Expulsion. With Junior status, I KNOW this isn't right. It's Manipulative, Deceitful, and Unjust. This is done routinely to scare Freshmen into doing their own work without her proofing it.

Don't take this course if you don't want to read Atlas Shrugged. The whole class pretty much revolves around it and the philosophy, and it's way too much.

The expectations were often unclear, and the workload far too heavy for a 200-level course. The classroom was not a particularly pleasant environment.

The class was super difficult and I hated it at the time BUT I can honestly say it's the class I learned the most from. I came out actually feeling like it was worthwhile, despite the poor grade and the intense amount of reading.
