I have been horrible all my life at math. I was recommend by a family member to take his class and I'm so happy I did. I took his math1314 class online, and he was helpful every bit of the way. I cannot thank this man enough for all he did to help me. Take him!!!

By far one of the best math teachers i have ever had! he loves his students, and answers every question you have. All of your homework is online, and you will not ever use a book. I wish I could take him for my other math. Super sweet, super helpful, and an all around amazing teacher!

Amazing Professor!!! I was so terrified of Math and Mr. Self made me realize to go in and face my fear. Mr. Self can teach Math where you can understand it and solve the questions. I'm so thankful to have had him as my teacher.

Great Professor. He teaches to all styles of learning. Work hard and you will make an "A" in his class. I hate math, and was terrified to take college algebra. He was recommended by my psychology professor. Russell Self can teach math to a rock, take him if you can.

well I registered so I had to make it fair and re-rate Prof Self... I think he's awesome. He's a REALLY THOROUGH teacher. He goes through ALL the steps and teaches you how to LEARN. I have to agree with the last post. I made an A in his class, but had trouble passing Calc 1. I found out that he doesnt even teach Calculus, so he doesnt know what is important in Algebra. My friend loves him cuz she made an A; BUT she still cant factor well. Avoid if you must take math past Alg.

Good teacher if you dont plan to go further in math. Everybody who takes his Alg class and then takes Trig/Calc. has problems. I had to retake Alg. under Mrs D to pass Calc 1. His good reviews are from students who want and easy A while learning no math. This is not the sign of a good math teacher

It had been years since I had taken Algebra, and I was really afraid to take it after all these years, as math is not my best subject. He explains a problem step by step from the beginning to the end and very clearly. He is funny too, which makes learning even more fun!
