Comment:

Perla is just about the kindest professor I have EVER had. She is amazing and so understanding. Just pay attention in class and go in to office hours if you're confused and you'll be fine. Highly recommend this class for people who just want to get their MATH core out of the way.

Comment:

Dr. Myers is a super sweet person; it's obvious that she cares a lot about her students. Her class was hard & there was tons of homework, but she's very open to helping students during office hours and she allows you to make up quizzes to improve your grade. She challenges you to think outside of the box which can be frustrating but she means well.

Comment:

Dr. Myers is the best ever! I signed up because I wanted to satisfy the core, hoping to survive because math has never been my thing. I was in for a surprise! It turns out that I can understand math, and proved stuff about infinity, prime numbers and other cool things. She was so supportive and engaging. The adventure in Peru was life-changing.

Comment:

Dr Myers is the best! Math 160 isn't too challenging but annoying material. The homework takes forever and she can be pretty particular but nonetheless is an easy grader. There are weekly quizzes which can be made up for 5.5/6 points if you go to her office hours. She is super friendly, caring, and helpful, and always provides internship leads.

Super caring professor but an insane amount of homework is given. She's the type of professor that expects you to make your life about her class. If you have sports, clubs, activities, any other heavy courses, or any kind of social life, I would not recommend taking her class.

Comment:

Professor Myers taught so much that will help me when I become a teacher. The visual and interactive lessons helped me see math concepts in a way I never understood them before. I loved the visit from Monarch children and working with them on math activities. I was nervous about the oral exam but it was a great experience.

Hardest class I ever took but totally worth it. I took the class to fulfill the ge but I looked forward to it more than any of my other classes. Dr Myers really wants you to succeed!

Very different math from anything I learned before. Some is weird but interesting and the professor has so much enthusiasm for the subject and cares about making sure all the students understand. Quizzes are great and all the visuals really help me. My idea about what math is has definitely expanded.

Lots of work but I feel much more prepared to be an elementary school teacher. When I came to the class I thought word problems were impossible, but now I know I can think through them. Very caring professor. Take advantage of office hours.

Professor Myers is an amazing woman. She is very passionate about her subject and actually cares that you understand it. She would send me 2-3 personal emails a week asking if I understood the material and trying to get me to come to office hours. This class has A LOT of homework, so make lots of time for it! I definitely recommend this class.

Dr. Myers helped me see that I can be good in math. I always thought I was bad at math, but this semester changed that for me. She believes everyone is capable. I figured out how to work hard. I just wish I had done it earlier in the semester.

If you MUST take Calc. I I recommend her. I admit I'm not a math-guy at all, but she makes it slightly painless. Only thing is that she assigns an INSANE amount of homework.
