He is a great professor. Go to office hours, ask questions, and he will definitely help you. First exam is the hardest. Not the easiest class, but he offers extra credit. You get the grade with the work you put in.

Cool Professor! Really liked him and the class subject matter. Interesting to learn about Mexican Culture. There are 3 Exams, all written exams. Also a group paper project that takes some time to complete. He is at times unclear with what he wants, so make it a point to ask him questions after class or during office hours. All around good class!

*Great professor but his teaching style might be hard for some to follow. No homework, powerpoint in class only, he does not use blackboard. If you read and prepare for the written exams you will do well. He is a great guy and is always willing to help if you do not understand the material. All tests (3)consist of writing essays. 1 group project*

He truly cares about his students and what he is teaching. Initially you will have to adjust to his teaching. Essay topics for 1st test were vague. Test scores were low. 2nd and 3rd he tells you what he will ask. I pulled an A, but read the entire book. The book is not boring..read&attend& you'll be fine. Get a good group, project is tedious.

Grades are based on 3 quiz's and a project. No homework and have to show up to class in order to get powerpoint slides. He doesnt post it on blackboard. He likes specific examples on quiz's to show you know what your talking about. No examples, no points. So make sure to know what he said in class with his powerpoint presentation

Very liberal attitude and leaves everything up to you and your opinions. Very easy. Gives you the essay questions before the test. One paper was a group paper and he didn't give you any instruction, really, into what to do. It was fun.

WHAT A GREAT TEACHER! INDIANA JONES MEETS Jaime Escalante! Very open to interpretation. Gives lots of chances for grade improvement. Knows his subject. If CSUF offers CHIC-302 "Ancient Mexican Culture" take it with Pete Espinoza! I got a B in the class.

Loved the class and the professor. The class info and lectures are very interesting. Student involvement is heavy and effects the grade. He leaves the assignments open for your interpretaion and is big on reflective thinking by the students. If this sounds good to you I highly recommend taking his class.

If you don't mind a mostly lecture and movie class, then its pretty fun. The papers are very open to interpretation. Great Professor, but there isn't a real set schedule. Don't take this class if you are a control freak or have to have direct instruction. He leaves a lot to interpretation.

HORRIBLY UNCLEAR directions at the start of class. He will work with you though if you talk with him after class. You have to make the extra effort to clarify what he wants and you will do fine. Great subject matter--big positive impact on my life.
