Comment:

He was a very rude teacher to me. I am an average A-B student, but for some reason he did not like me. Would call me out in front of the whole class and make very rude comments to me. Even told me once "I don't want to help you" when I asked for help on a lab. Would never recommend him to someone else to be embarrassed in front of a whole class!

Comment:

By far my favorite professor, he is willing to work with you if you aren't satisfied with your grade. I missed out a few days of class due to car trouble and missed 2-3 labs though he didn't give me full credit for tardiness he definitely helped a lot. He is very very passionate about his course and enjoys students who show interest in it as well.

Comment:

Great professor. Hilarious, easy to work with, and very knowledgeable and passionate about the material. Definitely make sure that you have a good group for the labs, makes the class go by a lot faster. The tests he gave us were open note so make sure you're paying attention to the lecture.

For a science class, the Intro to Geology course is very lenient. Take this course with him if you have trouble understanding obscure scientific concepts. He lectures but if you follow along, he's a funny guy. He's passionate about his subject and will help you pass in any way he can.

Thought I'd hate this class on day one, but by the end I realized it wasn't that bad. Teacher himself is nice, albeit a little dry. Lectures were very boring in my opinion, and the final is difficult if you don't take good notes. Labs were hit/miss. Otherwise, he's oddly lenient with grading if you submit all your work. Solid option for Geology.

Dr. Rocks (Mr. Garwood) is kind of like your fun, sometimes kinda grumpy (but never mean) lovable grandpa. He keeps his lectures fun with the occasional dad joke. His tests are open note, but that doesn't mean they are easy. He is a fun teacher who loves his field and wants to inspire his students to love it as well.

Great teacher! I learned a lot, but be ready to adjust to his personality. He can come off strong but just roll with it. If you do all the labs and attend most classes, there is no doubt you will have an A or B.

He is probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had in college. Don't buy the books, because he doesn't teach from them; he actually teaches things completely different from how they are explained in the book. Barely half the class shows up for every class. The lab is usually just a worksheet. Very few grades.

Don't buy the lab book!! Dr. Rocks is passionate and knows his stuff! His grading is a little fuzzy, make sure to keep track of your grades yourself. Extra credit is readily available, do it and you're guaranteed an A! Exams are open book and open note. You won't regret taking a class with Dr. Rocks!

Dr Rocks does just that! Phil Garwood rocks it out! I returned to college after a decade break as I intended to take a semester off and life happened. This man made me truly interested in learning. We had an off site lab where we looked for fossils and I found an ancient shark tooth. Eat THAT shark week!

Love this guy! His excitement to rocks is so exciting. As long as you come to class everyday, or only miss 1 or 2, and take notes all the time and appear to be interested, you will be fine. You probably wont have to take the final. And if you do, you can use notes. So its all good. But if he gives you the option, TAKE IT! He might bump the grade

This professor was recommended to me. The class was hard to follow because he didn't follow the textbook. There is always a disconnect when exams are not taken from the textbook. The notes were detailed, but didn't help as much on the exams. He does help students when they need assistance. This was not an easy A.

If u have an ellective, take this guy!!Not only will u learn a ton about the earth and stuff, u will laugh ur butt off doing it!!Its amazing how much u will learn and have fun doing it,He motivated me to become a teacher,Dr. Rox could easily quit his day job abd become a comedian,take his class if u get the chance!! NO BRAINER!
