Comment:
Overall I really liked Korman. He does care about teaching and he tries to make the lecture interesting and funny. His class was pretty easy though, so if you really want to learn math he might not be the best professor. This class is very much based on lecture rather than the textbook.

Comment:
He rushes through examples very fast which makes them hard to follow. He has a strong accent and makes a lot of assumptions in math, which makes it confusing to follow. Plus, he wrote his own book, so reading the textbook won't make it any clearer. His tests are mainly multiple choice and he will not give partial credit.

3 20% tests and a 40% final. Make sure you circle the correct multiple choice answers. He was a great guy. His Russian accent does not get in the way much. There are many equations so memorize well. He is straight to the point and clear with what he wants. The exams were graded very fairly. His notes do get messy on the board so be prepared.

I had Korman for differential equations. Class notes usually pretty messy with wrong numbers at times but all class notes are in the textbook he wrote himself. Makes you memorize all of the equations which there are many. Exams themselves weren't super difficult. Curved me from a low B- to a B+.

Comment:
Dr. Korman made the workload for this class bearable, as the only grades were two quizzes, two tests, and a final exam. His teaching was scattered at first, but he eventually slowed down. The lectures were long, but the quizzes and tests were fair and graded leniently. He was helpful in his office as well, and he enjoyed talking with students.

Professor Korman is a very nice and funny guy, but his teaching style is very disorganized. If you rely heavily on organized notes to look back on, don't take his class. His lectures are all over the place.

Grades are only on tests and exams, assigns homework not for a grade. Easy class, especially if you are good at testing, I only did about half of the homeworks

Very comfortable with the subject so he is able to present anything very clearly and easy to understand with a little thought. Also has a lot of passion for the subject. Respect.

Professor Korman is one of the best math teachers I've ever had period. His explanations of the topics are always very clear. His exams are fair, if you do the homework and come to class you will do well on them.

Took him for diff eq as well as Calc 2. He's by far one of the best professors I've ever had. He is clear and concise. If you do the suggested homework and take notes you will do well. Tests are multiple choice (calc 2) so make sure you don't mess up your +/-s. Very helpful if you have ?s after class/via email. Super cute old Russian dude-love him.

He has a small Russian accent which forces you to pay attention. He really goes through the material. He tells you what will be on the test, he will slow down to go over any questions or homework, and his test are really simple. He doesn't put the hard questions on the test. I recommend taking him for differential equations.

I had him for Differential Equations. He is extremely organized and explains stuff extremely thoroughly. His class, despite the subject that it is, is the one that I look forward to going to the most. His tests don't seem to have any tricks-you either know it or you dont. 1/3 of the grade is multiple choice. He also has a super cool Russian accent!

His accent makes him hard to understand at times, and he gives multiple choice questions for 70% of his tests (no partial credit on multiple choice questions) But he knows the math very well, is organized, no nonsense, and explain the material very well. I will take him again whenever I can.

Had him for differential equations. He wrote the book on the subject - literally. He teaches extremely fast but he is so good you understand everything. Each class reminds me of the Matrix, when Neo got Kung Fu uploaded to his brain in the space of 30 seconds. "Whoa!"

He is a pretty good teacher for only seeing him once a week for Calculus Lab. There are two tests (Week 5 and 10) and no final. It's an all around good experience.

I did not like his class. Class was 1 hour every week and I missed class one week early in the quarter due to surgery and when I approached him the next class about what I missed, he was dismissive and not helpful at all. I fell behind early and was never able to recover. The final exam was very hard.
