Dr. T is the BEST professor I've had at WCU. He really cared about me and the other students. He offered me so many opportunities to succeed in the TV business and I am so grateful for everything he has done for me. Definitely take him.

Dr. Thompsen is a great professor. He makes lectures really interesting and interactive with iClicker questions. The online homework is typically pretty easy, but the in class tests are very hard but he let's you use your notes during the tests to help.

Dr Thompsen a good teacher but he relays too heavily on technology use, you sign in and participate with iClicker where at least half of our class can't access or a question will just disappear off your screen and you will loose points for no reason. Every homework is through learning curve a website which has issues a lot, good class but hard.

Dr. Thompsen was a great professor this semester. He really helps you with your projects and assignments. Make sure you actually watch through the Lynda tutorials, he tests on them!!

Dr. T is awesome, his tests for this class were kind of hard, but manageable if you study the online exams at the end of the chapters. He makes you work for your grade, and the modules are long and dry. Otherwise a great class and very informative. Make a demo reel that you can use on a resume and do a lot of hands on work behind/on camera

Dr. T is a really cool guy. He's a little bit eccentric but in the best way and that keeps you on your toes a little during his lectures. He made the hybrid course thing work really well and I loved the topics that he spoke on. The online material he has you do is a little time consuming but you have plenty of time to do them and they are easy!

Dr. Thompsen is hands down the best professor i've had at WCU, and this class was my all time favorite. If you have the desire to work in the tv or radio industry this class is FOR YOU! You get so much experience and practice. He cares so much about everyone's success & you get to meet and hear storeis from real-world announcers and news anchors!!

The guy is vain (puts his picture everywhere) and a little condescending, but once you get past it he's a great prof. SUPER EASY! It's a hybrid course so there's a lot of work to do outside of class. Interesting content, too. Clicker sessions are his way of doing attendance. (clicker provided- no need to buy.) Reading quizzes once a week online.

Fun class! Great com class to take, long lectures, but he makes them pretty interesting. Tests aren't too hard but you should take notes. All powerpoint but his radio voice will keep you awake and interested.

If you go to class you will most likely do well. He isn't very clear on when things are due so you really have to rely on his syllabus and take good notes during the lectures. Class is long and boring and a lot of reading from the textbook.

I loved this class! Going to class is important because you get a clicker score. Online is short lessons and quizzes that are very easy. He offers a lot of extra credit to bring up your grade too. Tests are difficult, got a C+ on both but still managed to get a A- in the class. You do a lot of work but it's easy. would def take again!

I really liked this class. Most of it is online but your clicker score in class is still a lot so you still need to go once a week. If you do well on your online work, you'll do well in the class. The final is optional and won't hurt you if you do bad but can only help you.

COM majors...it doesn't get any better than Dr T. He's awesome. And I mean it...you won't have another COM professor that is better than Thompsen. He's helpful and insightful and great to talk to about anything. Alot of the COM professors are tough and boring, Thompsen is great. I wish he taught more classes within the major.

Honest to God, favorite WCU professor to date. Absolutely adored him. Loved the "Moldy Oldies," keeps your attention, socializes with students before class begins. The overall atmosphere was so very positive, no one WANTS to talk during lectures or doze off. Just don't procrastinate for the online quizzes- they sneak up on you!

One of the nicest professors at WC. Attendance isn't mandatory but helps your grade a lot with a clicker score. Gives a few extra credit assignments during the year which are easy. Online quizzes are boring but a decent part of your grade. Lectures are interesting and if you pay attention and read the textbook, you'll do well. Definitely take!
