Comment:

My mother had a class with him in the nineties. She has her EMBA. She had a 3.9. This man gave her a B because she was a woman, she will tell you to this day. His accounting process was not classic, and he refused to give her credit for doing her work the classic way. It is a disgrace to Pitt that he still teaches. Shame on the university!

Well, Prakash is by far the worst teacher I've had at Pitt thus far. If you think you're going to learn anything about accounting forget about it. He might be the most useless professor of all time. Doesn't use a book. uses his own notes which have nothing to do with accounting. The class itself isn't too hard, mainly take home tests.

I liked accounting, got an A in financial, but this guy is a nut. He insults the intellegence of anyone who asks a question. Complained to the dean about him but they did nothing. Ended up withdrawaling since I was so frustrated with him. He also loves himself, which is obvious from the first week. Trust me, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

Worst professor at Pitt. Do NOT take this class. Please don't be like me and see these comments and say "oh, he can't be THAT bad." He is. Unfortunately, he is tenured, and while nearly everyone in my class gave him low reviews, he will never be fired. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. TRANSFER OUT. Even if its 8:00 AM it's worth it.

Had him for man. accting. Teaches his own way, so book was waste of $120. Huge lack of respect for students...The material wasn't that hard, but in some instances the questions on midterm/final were completely dif from what we did in class, and there was no way of getting them right even though it was take home..Curves if you attend class, got an A

Horrible. Like eveveryone said, he has his own method and it makes sense, but in something like accounting where there are standard formats, it is useless. He is the most condescending teacher I have ever had. Today I was told I am "bad at thinking."

This is the worst class I have ever taken at Pitt. His "template learning" is unclear and mostly unhelpful. Seriously, you'll be lost in this class, and suprise! he's not much help. He really seems to care about his students, but fails to realize that the best way to help would be just to retire.

i didnt go to class and he resented me for it. i know absolutely nothing about accounting and got a B+. i never would have gotten that grade with a different prof--everything was take home and has his own version of acct-if you are an acct major he'll do you no good. hes kind of mean and embarasses people a lot but also a cute old man at times..

Read all the bad comments and still took the class--BIG MISTAKE, I ended up withdrawing. Prakash isn't a bad guy but the class is his way or the highway. Template learning, which he created, is confusing and unclear. Honestly, just take a different Prof!

This is easily the worst teacher in the whole business school. On the first day he reads comments from old evaluation which are all bad and makes excuses for why they say the things they do. Dont believe the things he says. He is an arrogant, pompous professor who doesnt explain his "better" method of teaching accounting adequately .BOO Prem Prakas

Took 630-9pm class with recitation immediately afterwards. The entire class requires 2 nights of work...on the take-home midterm and final. These tests were very hard, but with sufficient effort you will earn at least a B. Nice guy that seems to reach out to students that need extra help. Class sucks alot but as I mentioned only 2 nights work!!

It isn't easy to get used to his way of doing things, particularly if you didn't have him for Financial Accounting.
