Comment:

Dr. Hopp is an amazing woman in general. Her test are tough but straight from her notes and powerpoints do help to study. She types out fill -in-the-blank notes and like i said that is all you need for the test, but be sure to really understand the material, she will be sure you understand and not just memorize a bunch of terms. Comment:

Dr. Hopp is a nice lady but she is not a very helpful or explanatory professor. Her lectures are long and boring and her tests are rigorous. All the test material comes from the hand outs and from the powerpoint slides during lecture. After taking both Bio 1 and Bio 2 with her I can say that I definitely would not take her classes again.

Dr. Hopp is a good professor. If you want to get an A in this class try to memorize the information notes. There are 3 test and 1 final (the final is 30% cumulative and 70% new information). She gives extra credit and drops your lowest homework or quiz grade. There are not many quiz but there is online homework for each chapter (an essay A).

She is a nice teacher. To get an A read her notes and understand the material on it. She does not quiz much but you have to do the online homework (helps on the test). Her test are from her notes . She also gives a lot of extra credit. This is a Bio class so be ready to memorize the material.

She's an amazing professor. Her test are hard, but its only because she expects the best out of her students. If you ever need help with anything just go ask her! She really cares about her students and is willing to help in any way possible. One thing I truly appreciate about her class is that to this day I still remember the material.

I have taken Dr. Hopp's "biology class" and she is extremely knowledgeable but lacks severely, social skills, if you have her for a biology, make sure you understand that she is super knowledgeable in that course but doesn't know how to break it down in "layman's term" So you may be better off getting another biology instructor.

Her notes are very straightforward and she is always willing to help answer any questions you may have! You will do well on her tests as long as you keep up with all the material and don't wait till the last minute to study.

Dr. Hopp is an amazing teacher who truly cares about the value of an education. I very much enjoyed her teaching style. she gave simple instructions and was always available to clarify. I know because she speaks softly you think she is really smart, well she IS! so pick her brain you might learn something.

Dr. Hopp is a great teacher and she is open to suggestions for your benefit. The courses that she teaches are very difficult, but she explains well and gives you notes (fill in blank). From what I've seen, few people make A's in her classes, but just work hard. She appreciates hard workers. Tests are challenging but are straight from her notes.

She's an extremely helpful professor who really wants to help you and see you succeed. She goes into a lot of detail and it can get a little bit confusing, but she's very helpful when you ask questions. Her lecture tests are straight from the noes she gives you. Her lab tests are rather difficult but possible to do well on as long as you study well

Comment:

I took her for BIOL 2353, 2477, 3454, and 4292. Her Senior Sem on C. elegans was SO useful. I went on to get a Masters and do C. elegans research, and I was ONLY accepted because I had prior experience. She is hard, but if you can't handle this, forget about Graduate/Med School. Plus, she's very nice and supportive. One of my favorite professors.

The tests come straight from the notes she gives you. Her class isn't necessarily hard, it just involves a lot of studying and memorizing. Oh, but the online homework assignments we have to do are kind of annoying...you need the textbook for those, but I didn't really use it to study.

SHE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT! She teaches directly from the book's notes and her tests may seem easy but it's not. You have to memorize everything even if it seems like it's not important. She may say "oh, you only have to study this and this and this" And by that, she means all her notes. Don't take her

Dr Hopp is an okay teacher but teaches straight from her notes. Don't ask her anything not on the notes because she probably won't know... Her tests are extremely detail oriented and require only memorization. Don't learn the material and answer longer than she wants because she will deduct points. She also does not really care about the students..

She is a very good professor. i had her for cell and mol and i made an A in her class. you just have to study her notes(memorize it) and you can make 95 above on all her test. I don't about the upper level classes she teach..but for cell and mol she is the Best
