This was the first semester of the "flipped" classes: Watch lectures online before class, come in and work on problems with Dr. Srivastava and a few other Post-doc students in small classes of 20 each. He was crystal clear in his lectures and all of his TA's helped immensely

Pretty good teacher but he makes this class very hard. You can know the material really well and still do poorly on his tests, they can be quite tricky.

By far one of the best professors I have had at UF. I can honestly say I have learned so much in this class. He is challenging and the class requires work. Master the first four chapters of class and you will do fine. Attend lectures and do HWK problems to do well

Comment:

I didn't go to class and scored above an A on every test. Tests are very fair; old exams are posted beforehand and are good predictors for the exam material. Also, final answers are often whole numbers, so you know when you got it right. Grading scale is a bit tough, but it's very possible to get an A if you don't slack off. Very intuitive subject.

Comment:

I would have gotten a B in Circuits if I didn't fail the lab. The lab sucked, and so did the "fail the lab fail the course" principle. Having said that, Srivastava will teach you everything about Circuits. You may not get an A, but you will grok the material.

test are very hard. got a 60% a 48% and i studied everyday and even went to tutor.quizzes are 10 mins wont even give you time to to think.the people that do good in this class are the really smart people that understand everything from just sitting in class.i did all test and HW and wasn't prepare enough for test.he is kind of condescending as well

Comment:

A good professor. Very good lectures. Fair but challenging exams. After going through some of the other EE professors, you'll begin to appreciate professors like Srivastava, despite stories of his difficulty. Other professors just cannot teach, yet expect a lot from you. One downside is that he seems a bit aloof when you visit his office hours.

Dr. Srvastiva is one of the best teachers I've ever had. You will learn circuits better than anyone else with Dr. S. Quizes are straight from the homework and Tests are not bad whatsoever (Problems are just like the homework and quizes). People who complain are the people that didn't do the homework and dropped out. Also an A is very obtainable.

He is not a fair professor. His exams are made of the hardest problems.I spent hours and hours studying for the class and still failed every test.You can not pass just by doing the homework, you would have to basically do every problem there is in the book. Each problem takes about 45 minutes so a whole day is not enough for 20 problems.

This guy is brilliant. If you REALLY want to learn circuits, take this guy. People that complain about this professor and how "hard" his tests are, are the people that dont come to class and don't have a clue about whats going on.Quizes are strait from the homework, and if you truely know the material the tests are not bad at all. Very fair guy.

Great professor! This class is HARD, but he really makes it worthwhile. I spent the most effort on this class last semester, and it ended up my worst grade, but left feeling like I really learned circuits well. He is a very good teacher and will keep you interested if you want to be.

Srivastiva was a great professor and from what i hear much better than jordan. he explains the material as best as it can be explained. Be prepared, this class has a high drop rate. My lab started out with 14 students and only 6 ended up finishing the course. If you work hard and go to class you should have no problem. Get Srivastiva over Jordan!!!

He's got great lectures and explains everything very well his test are extremely hard. The lab is okay alot of people drop or the fail the class so be prepared to spend alot of time in his class. Would take srivastiva over jordan anyday

One of the few excellent professors I've had at UF. His notes were excellent and were more than enough to prepare for his exams. Just do the weekly homework and focus on the concepts. The exams aren't bad. I learned circuits really well with him.
