I have taken math with professor Tulkki for the past 3 semesters, math 50, 70, and 110. The homework is all through my math lab or web assign. He answers any questions you have or further explains anything you don't grasp, as long as you ask. If you email him the day before class, he will email you before class the next day. Such a great professor!

VERY GOOD! There's no b.s with the class. I love the way he teaches. He doesnt lecture about boring stuff he just gets straight down to the material. which is awesome, were practicing the problems the entire class. As long as youre there almost every class and actually do the homework you can easily pass. Also hes just very nice in general!

Comment:

Teaches right out of the book. If you want a teacher that is no-nonsense so that you can get on with your life and not worry about math, this is your teacher. If you prefer to have conversations about the subject to fully grasp it I would recommend looking elsewhere.

You can be successful in this class as long as you do the homework, keep up attendance, and get a tutor outside of class. He uses my mathlab which is a great program. He gives human error points on tests, drops the lowest test/quiz score, and gives extra credit for attendance. Not bad, just make sure to get outside help.

This professor is that he uses MyMath Lab which is an extremely helpful program. The program is more helpful than he is. When it comes to asking general questions about the class his answer will always be "look at the syllabus" which is frustrating. He grades really easy. Drops the lowest test/quiz score and gives extra credit for attendance.

He's not as awful as most of these reviews seem. He is rather dry, and moves very fast, but he curves exams and quizzes, and drops either lowest test or lowest two quizzes. Reads from overhead a lot, but tries to explain every problem. My complaints are that he often skips steps and assumes we understand, and he makes occasional errors.

He knows his material and does expect you to "remember" a lot of what he teaches. Over all its not that bad. Make sure you do HW, Test/Quiz mult. choice makes it a lot easier. I wouldn't mind taking another class with him. =)

pretty much everything that is said about him on here, is true. except for that, he does not fail you if your attendance percentage goes below 90%. other than that, everything is spot on. nice guy though

easily the worst math teacher ive EVER had. puts the book page on the overhead and reads it to you like youre 4. also wont slow down if over half the class is struggling to keep up. very rude and if youre more than 10 minutes late he'll mark you as absent for the entire class. when attendance goes below 90% he will fail you. do NOT take his class!!

Dull lectures. HW is mandatory and is due the next class and sometimes its to much, it's online but its more helpful than him. The only reason I'm going good is because I remember some of it from High School. Your presence is mandatory every day for a good grade. One office hour a semester.

Easily one of the worst professors I have ever come across. "Lectures" are not lectures, but rather simply regurgitation of the book on a prompter, I mean he LITERALLY scans a copy of the book into his computer and scrolls down while reading it. He DOES NOT teach. If you want to actually learn the subject matter... don't take him.

He rushes through everything, book is the abridged and his "lecture" is just flipping through scans of the book. Hw isnt graded, 4 exams, expects you to know everything perfectly. No note cards, but he does give a human error bonus, though didnt really help as everyone failed each exam. Had to withdraw and find someone who will actually teach.

He just scanned the book and not even kidding just reads the book I've never seen that before he's nice but he should bring in more information than the book provides because I know how to read I need to be shown how to do the problems more than the book explains
