He's such a smart guy. He is really good at explaining complex concepts, and always stays on track with the material (aka doesn't pretend to be cool and make bad dad jokes). If you show up to class everyday you will get up to 110ish extra credit points. Tests are straight forward too. Overall great dude. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. White is great. He sneaks jokes into the tests and into some lectures, and overall is very good at explaining complex topics. There are clicker questions in every class, which count as extra credit, but they are exactly the questions that appear on the tests.

Fairly easy class. If you want an A, just show up to class and you will receive one. Lots of extra credit if you go to class, tests are pretty easy and there's absolutely no homework. Nice guy too.

He's a great teacher. Very passionate about astronomy. His tests are multiple choice and a lot of the questions on the tests come from clicker questions given in class. Also gives extra credit for attendance.

Class isn't required but I would attend. Each lecture he has 5-10 clicker questions which adds extra points to your final grade. His tests are mostly all of the in class clicker questions and a few questions from the study guide. His lectures are long and boring but tests are straight forward.

Dr. White isn't going to win an award for best lecturer, but he knows everything about Astronomy. Ask him any questions and he'll explain. I recommend going to class because he puts all his clicker questions on the test.

Mr. White is a great teacher who is very well informed in the subject that he teaches. He is so understanding and sweet. Study the clicker questions AND the study guide to pass. That will guarantee you an A. Attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend going to class since it can determine if you get an A or B.

You don't have to go to the class but try to. You'll do a lot better on his tests. This class isn't hard but you need to put in more than is required. Do the study guides for tests, listen to at least some lectures and do his bonus point clicker questions.

This class was a breeze for me, but the lectures were extremely boring. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you show up, you get to answer the clicker questions which will count as extra credit (and they show up on the tests!) I can't count the number of times I found myself dosing off during his lecture but I have an A.

The tests are often word-for-word from the study guide, which follows the book really well. Only 3 exams + final, final coverd last 5 chapters, no homework. Daily extra-credit clicker questions, no attendance taken (class size too big). Just reads off of his web notes in class but is there to answer questions if you have any.

do not take him. only 4 tests, the tests do not come from the study guides. do not bother with them. clicker questions are most of your learning. He is boring and not willing to help his students because he simply just cares about astronomy and not his students who are trying to pass his class.

The most BORING lecture I've ever taken. You don't need to go to class to do well on the 4 exams, which are the only grades. He has clicker questions for bonus points in every class, which was the only reason I ever went and all of the clicker questions are on Quizlet.

Dr. White really knew his stuff about astronomy. However, if you're not passionate about astronomy, this class will be very boring. Overall this class was pretty easy, there were a lot of clicker questions that were for extra credit. A lot of the clicker questions were on the exams too. Final exam is not comprehensive.

I really didn't learn much from him. He's a really funny guy and has a very large passion for the subject. However his passion can serve as a disadvantage for the student. He gets easily distracted with things related to the subject, but not important to the class. Spent the whole class on my computer. But clicker questions are great.

Class is boring but you can be on your computer the entire time and he has clicker questions every class which are extra credit (very helpful towards grade), lots of the clicker questions are on the test and he always gives you a study guide and posts the power points online.

This was the most fun in a class I've had at UA so far. I enjoyed Professor White's lectures, he really knows his stuff and is more than willing to answer any questions you may have. Attendance is the best way to do well in this class. Text book is good, and often offers a different perspective, but not required. Online notes are very handy.

Dr. White is a very knowledgeable professor. Test come directly from clicker questions (You can only get these by attending class) and the study guides. He has a review session before every exam...GO! The clicker questions are extra credit and could potentially give you 7 points on your final grade. I loved the class and received an A+.

Most boring professor I have had in college. Try to make yourself go to class and get ALL the clicker questions. That's at least half the test. His notes online are nearly incomprehensible. The one time I approached him for anything, he was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Don't take this class.
