Terrible Professor. Shes rude and decides to take off points on your assignment with a very poor excuse why. Stay away from her, one of the most difficult professors I've dealt with.

Comment:

She makes communication way harder and precise then it needs to be. She was extremely strict and would take points off for everything. I would email her all the time and ask her for help and her responses were not helpful and almost rude. This class was harder for me than chemistry and psychology. Her tests are tough & u arent given enough time.

There was a lack of communication between student and professor and anytime you ask a question after class she would give you a hard time. There was no compromise if you were unable to make it to class for any reason. She also gave me a hard time the first day when I brought in a recorder for notes claiming I might use it in a threatening way.

Dr. E. expects you to use your comm. skills for this college class. Students get confused and think her essay questions are as though she is just surveying U "Name a great public speaker & why," If U only give 2 sentences, bad grade. Does she really need 2 remind U 2 read the chapter & write actual paragraphs? It is a COLLEGE COMMUNICATION CLASS!

Completely rude and far too egotistical. Public Speaking should not be as formulaic as she is making it. Good luck trying to have individuality with your speeches or anything unique. Dropped our final speech on us 4 days before it was due when our previous two speeches had several weeks to be completed. Try a different professor.

If you ask questions, prepare to be talked down to. Reading the book is a must. She's very vague on what she expects us to do on assignments, so your best bet is to guess and hope you do it right. I have a harder time in this class than Physics, just because of this professor. Try to find a different one!

Dr. Ellison is clearly very knowledgeable about theatre, but she's not the best at teaching it. If you miss class, you miss any lecture for that day, since she doesn't post the Powerpoints on Blackboard. She can be condescending. She doesn't take anything even a minute late. She also offers little guidance as far as preparing for tests.

This teacher seems very bitter, she spends more time knocking people down for little things that have nothing to do with communication. The irony about her class is that her communication during feedback is almost non existent. She knows what she is saying and if you don't well that's too bad. Do not expect an A, this is the hardest class i took

I took her online communications class and was very happy. She has a solid plan and clear grading criteria. There is quite a bit of work at times but I felt it was overall easy to get an A. The hardest part of this class was preparing for a short speech, it wasn't too bad. I feel she is a fair grader and gives good feedback. Extra credit offered.

You need public speaking or communications for most degrees at Jefferson College and the only way to pass her class is to take it online!!! She is a mean teacher but online you wont have to deal with that. She has all of her criteria organized in folders and if you work hard you can pass. I just highly recommend taking it online because shes rude

I would not recommend this teacher at ALL. She does not respond to emails and is not specific on what she wants out of assignments. I emailed her twice and she did responded to me. When you take tests she does not tell you why you get short answer questions incorrect. Ridiculous

Terrible professor. Her moods swings are taken out on her students. She thinks shes the end all be all of drama professors but she is far and away from anything close to good.

This class was an online class and Dr. Ellison has one of the most organized and complete online classes I have taken. She has her expectations clearly stated and all of the information you need to succeed posted clearly. If you do need extra assistance she is friendly and available. I highly recommend her as a professor.

Rebecca Ellison really cares about her students. Her classes may not be easy A's, but that is because she cares about her students' education and wants them to actually learn something. She provides all of the information that is needed and helps her students actually do something with it.

An egotistical, rude woman with no respect for her students. If I could I would drop out of her class in a heartbeat. We had a test and nearly the whole class failed, then blamed the students. When she did not tell us what was on the test, never posted the notes online, or even helped anyone. The class looked as if they were going to rip her apart

Was a little worried looking at the previous reviews. My online class experience-she was very helpful and understanding with any issues. Email communication was in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to take her again if needed. Not a super tough grader, but can follow strict guidelines. Do not hesitate to ask her for help! I recommend her.

I have received all A's & one B so far since being enrolled in Jefferson College. You have to be almost perfect in everything you write in order to get a decent grade. Very tough grader. I do not feel that she communicated enough with how to help you do better. If I had to do it over again I would not choose this class if she was the professor.

I am writing this peer review because the majority of prior reviews do not capture the reality. Dr. Ellison gave specific directions/examples on how to do assignments; I earned 96.9% overall. I am also male; she is not biased. She communicated and graded assignments promptly. She is very passionate. High-quality professor! A++++ Highly recommended!

I regret to take this COM100 class! She bring my grade down from 3.2 to 2.8 ! Don't take the communication class with her. I always did all of my assignments, discussions, and quiz. If you do her class be ready to do so many papers assignments! She's tough on grading!
