Comment:
Her lecture and labs were both very disorganized. Test and homework will ask you about things she never covers. Lecture is mostly awkward group activities or long lectures. If you have social anxiety or are looking for just a regular lecture with little to no interaction then this isn't the class for you.

Shes terrible! do not take her courses. i took her course years ago and came back to see if my comment was still here. She is pathetic and lazy as an instructor. Takes her forever to respond. This isnt the 80syou need to adjust your teaching style. Their were tests where 89 was the high grade in the entire lecture of 40-50 people.

Professor Kapley is a very easy going woman. Her lectures were long and boring but she did try and break it up with some group activities. The outside homework was pretty much unnecessary because she gave out study guides before the test that were pretty much the same. Tests towards the end were all multiple choice and there is no official final.

Professor Kapley was extremely passionate about science and the environment. She shared many personal experiences with us and helped make the class more interesting. She truly was aware of what she was teaching. She's a very intelligent woman and probably the most passionate and most knowledgable professor I had at Tri-C.

Professor Kapley is an amazing instructor. She is kind, knowledgeable and she cares deeply about ecology and the success of her students. There is a lot of information in the course I took, and you do need to study, but she gives detailed study guides to help you. Her lab was great fun.

Class is pretty tough. Takes about a week to respond to emails. If you are like me and science is not the easiest subject I would recommend that you not take this course online. A lot of work but manageable. Pretty nice lady and seems to care but her response time and not putting grades in for month+ is just absurd.

Very nice person but grades for exams are usually late. Seems rather aloof at times when explaining directions. Overall class was interesting and I did learn a lot but at times seemed very disorganized.

I took this class online, and it is very engaging. You MUST read your textbook and check the blackboard. The presentations were VERY helpful and a lot of the quiz information came from them. As long as you follow everything on blackboard, you will do just fine. But be prepared to work. You also are allowed to take an index card to do your tests

Good teacher but was a little slow to respond to questions and seemed flippant when responding. The course was good though, I learned a lot, if you read the book, do the labs, and otherwise participate in class the tests were easy enough, if you study and utilize the note card you can bring to testing center.

Avoid this teacher at all costs. Not always clear on what you are assigned to do, did virtual office hours for a week or two then stopped them. Takes forever to respond to e-mails and takes forever to grade assignments. Didn't even grade assignments from the first week of class until after the course was over. Horrible teacher.

She was an amazing teacher. I was truly inspired by her. I highly highly recommend her. She is passionate about her field and I felt like she had amazing background knowledge. And I felt like she sincerely cared about our class. Best teacher I've had a Tri-C so far.

I thought she was a good professor. She helped however she could and knew the material. The tests are hard and you will need to study. But i you actually want to LEARN this is the professor for you! just be prepared for slow communications as she is hard to reach.

Her grading is straight to the point and if you do the work, follow the study guides, and participate in Discussion Boards you should do fine. The problem is her lack of communication via emails. It took her a week to respond to anything. She also didn't submit grades on time and caused a real headache for my degree (last class needed) & transcript

Off the wall professor. Argumentative. Not focused. If science says one thing, she says something else. Labs are ridiculous. She should NOT be teaching. Tests hard. Material and study guide on tests don't match. DO NOT recommend. Glad to be back in FL at FAU. CCC has substandard professors. Horrible school. Over-all rating- extremely poor.

Perhaps Kapley is better in person, but for the online class I took, she was an awful teacher. I really don't understand how someone with atrocious spelling and grammar is a college-level professor. Poor communication, lack of follow-up with assignments and grades, needlessly complex lab exercises, the list goes on why you should avoid her classes!

This professor is fluent in her field. She gives really interesting and different assignments, not boring long papers. I rec'd all my test grades in a timely manner. She is understanding about late assignments, or occ missed classes. Flexible, willing to give tests in TLC if you need to miss that big day. Awesome experience.
