You will have a reading assignment most days. Most of the time they are relatively short and dont take more than 15 minutes. He also gives you a lot of quizzes over the reading, but he only keeps the 10 highest ones.

Dr. Burns is a genuine, caring professor. He makes the class interesting and is always open to a funny joke. One of the many good things about his class is that he accepts feedback and is willing to make adjustments so that the class is enjoyable. If you do the assigned reading and pay attention, you should be fine!

Great & easy professor, loves what he teaches. Gives quizzes every class but only keeps the best 10/21. Keeps up with attendance so you have to show up! He offers extra credit. There is a lot of reading but they are easy reads & sometimes very interesting.

He is so funny and sarcastic, but can be honest to the point of rudeness. You have to read about 30+ pages for every class with a quiz to follow. You have to show up to class or you will fail. he will fail you when you've missed 4. It's easy to get a good grade as long as you keep up with the reading.

Dr. Burns was one of the best professors that I have had. I took his anthropology class this past semester, and had a really good experience. The class is very interesting as long as you do the work that is required. Dr. Burns is passionate about what he does and it shows through in his teaching. I highly recommend taking his classes.

I found the class and material interesting and although there were daily quizzes, I didn't mind much due to the fact that I enjoyed most of the readings. However, I had a problem with the professor's attitude. He can be very rude and condescending which makes him difficult to respect.

Honestly, not a very interesting class. He spends most of the class period talking about himself and his political beliefs. He can also be extremely rude. Overall though, it's a fairly easy class. As long as you read the assigned material, you will make an A. Most of the questions on the tests were copied straight from the quizzes as well.

Dr. Burns is beyond the best professor to ever teach me. His class is beyond easy as long as you pay attention in class and actually read the assignments he gives you. He helps his students more than anyone, and as long as you are willing to apply yourself, he is willing to help.

I enjoyed Dr. Burns' class very much. He has daily quizzes which come from the readings, but you should do fine if you read. He only keeps your 10 best quizzes and there's around 20 of them. Tests come straight from the quizzes. Learned a lot and made an A-what more could you want??

Personality-wise, often pretty smug. Swears a lot, and rambles on about stuff irrelevant to the class. He gives and grades quizzes, and his tests are taken from the quizzes word for word. Luckily, there are maybe 2-3 tests including the final. Often forgets to take roll. You have to read, but use Sparknotes or a book summary and you're fine.

This is a very good teacher. You can not fail if you do the work. It involves a lot of reading and quizes, but it is interesting I will be taking another course from him in the fall and am looking forward to it.

He gives quizzes regularly so you have to do the reading. The tests are straight from the study guides. The study guides have a lot of terms to know and he only uses a fraction of them, but at least you actually learn the material. Over all, it was nice to have a professor who still seemed interested in his field.

He gives A LOT of reading assignments (we had four textbooks and read online tutorials as well). You HAVE to do the reading or you WILL fail. Good professor, knows what he is talking about and keeps it interesting. He also gives several opportunities for extra credit! I would take a class of his again.

An interesting and in depth teacher. Honestly cares about even what might seem boring to others, and tries to make it relatable. Do the readings, or you WILL fail. Expect a quiz almost every day. However, he offers plenty of chances for extra credit. Dr. Burns doesn't want you to fail, but he will let you, if you insist.

Class was very unstructured. He did not spend much time talking about the material we were reading. He tends to spend our time talking about himself. The tests are very hard and VERY detail oriented. I was excited to take this class, I had heard that Anthro was fun. But this class has been WAY to hard for an entry level course.

He was one of my favorite teachers this semester. At first he seems intimidating and doesnt care about whether you pass the class or not. But he will surprise you later on. He is interesting and hilarious, and as long as you read and comprehend you will make an A(and of course come to class). You never have homework, besides reading. Take him!
