Very funny and dry British guy. Don't miss his in-class joke of the day. Participation technically isn't mandatory but he used the REEF app and the questions counted towards our grade (they're mostly easy though). Teaching style and tests were very straightforward. He heavily went off of slides that he made, not the chemistry slide book UT offers.

Funny guy, enjoyed the lectures. Tests werent bad, just make sure to study. Uses reef app for class participation. Not too much homework, but learning modules are annoying.

Loved him! He was a great professor-- funny, engaging, and he wants everyone to do well! His tests weren't bad as long as you take notes in class, do the homeworks, and review for the exams. I heard that he had easier tests than other professors. I would definitely take his class again! All the CH301 professors give 4 exams and drop your lowest.

He teaches the lectures fairly well and has a really fun personality. Keeps me in attendance, though it's not strictly mandatory.

He switched up the format of his class and it made it hard to follow. He would only discuss theory during lecture, yet the tests were all actual problem-solving questions. Basically taught myself through his posted practice tests. Had no idea how to solve most of the questions since he never went over examples in class after the first unit.

The class itself is super easy IF YOU SHOW UP TO CLASS. You will not be able to pass the tests if you skip lecture. The grading for the lab portion is entirely based on the TA. Dr. Jones is very nice and cares a lot about his students. He can be sassy at times, but he is very approachable especially if you need to complain about a TA.

Great guy. Great lectures. Great sense of humor. 10/10 would take again. As for study tips, attend class, take notes, read from the textbook/GChem site, and you'll be good.

Jones was the best teacher. He explains things so well and shows you different examples in relation to the topic he's trying to explain. He genuinely cares about your success in the class. I honestly didn't attend class very often and just reviewed notes and did practice problems. The tests are JUST like the homeworks. 4 tests lowest 1 gets dropped

Great professor! The material was presented in such a straightforward and engaging manner. Learning can be easy, and Jones really proved this. With a good professor, a student doesn't have to try to make a good grade, because if you just do your work, read back on notes, and pay attention to lecture, you will excel! I could have easily gotten an A+

I honestly think Jones was one of the easier profs. The class is very fair and he's just a very sweet nice man. The tests are super easy if you do the work. If you have a solid AP Chem background than honestly the class is kinda a joke. Even if you don't, the class is still very manageable. The tests are 25 multiple choice Qs no free response. :))

Professor Jones is a good professor. His TA, Jimmy, was great and did review sessions before all of the tests, which were super helpful. There's REEF questions almost every day in lecture. Jones's class averages on tests were usually in the low 80s, which was higher than other CH301 professors.

Super awesome guy! Really cares on teaching- however the lectures tend to be a bit dry but he does his best by incorporating experiments in the middle of them. Tests are pretty straightforward, if you know your stuff you'll be fine. He really lays out the information you need to know!

I had a love hate relationship about this course. I am not a chemistry major and found it difficult because he didn't clearly explain things. His TA Jimmy taught the material better in my opinion. Regardless, Jones was a funny professor and like others said his lectures weren't too boring. He does make it easy to get a good grade though.

Dr. Jones was my favorite professor this semester. He is witty and not dreadful to listen to. His TA Jimmy is FANTASTIC and a major source of help. Go to his review sessions because they help tons. Jimmy writes the tests so pay attention to everything he tells you because it is often for a reason. Tests aren't bad, but the final was tricky.

He is a funny British guy who cares about his students. The class is easy if you do the homework and listen during lectures. He does cool experiments in the middle of lecture so the class isn't always 1 hour and 30 min of lecture straight.

Professor Jones is one of those professors that just wants you to do well. You have to work a good amount to do well, but the class is straightforward. The tests are exactly like the homework, and if you go to the class right before an exam he basically hints at everything you need to know. His TA was awesome too.

Dr. Jones is known as "the British prof." He is hilarious even especially when his in class demonstrations go wrong or do not work! He is very caring and his class has the highest average for all the CH301s, and he is very proud of that. Going to class is important, especially the class right before the exam where he literally hints at exam quests
