The Professor is not specific and makes everything harder than what it should be. He expects you to read the syllabus without notifying the students in advance of what needs to be done. I thought I had finished all my work and believe me for an online class, it's a lot of work but I was never aware or alerted of a final exam after all my hard work.

You will be writing a lot if you take this over the summer and he is certainly not forgiving if you miss a single thing on his papers-even if it isn't named in the criteria. He specifies very little in his project requirements in his syllabus and leaves a lot up to question, you may as well be reading a murder mystery or religious text.

His tests and quizzes have questions that he makes trickey on purpose. Tests are very hard and simple questions are made complicated. Homeworks don't have clear instructions and u will have to figure it out by yourself. You will not find any online resource.

Dr. McMahon is a great person. I took this class during the Summer and there was tons of work. Reading and participation are a MUST and he expects you to do as instructed. He's very helpful! Overall, he is really tough, but fair. I really enjoyed his class and would probably take one of his classes again, although preferably not during the Summer.

Nice person, however, he doesn't teach you anything in class, he spent most of class time talking about himself or his wife. Also because he failed to verify the school holidays our group project was moved up so we only had a few days to prepare. Overall if you do the work you will get an A/B based off of participation and what you teach yourself.

I took this as an online class but from my experience he was not a hard grader. A large portion of our grade came from a group project, which was not a pleasant experience to have for an online class. He does give out a ridiculous amount of homework which at times can be challenging to complete in a timely manner.

Required to create HTML website. HTML not a prereq, he doesn't teach to you either. Pointless class, most knowledge you won't use. He does 0 teaching. You teach yourself by reading the textbook. Exams are very difficult, you need to master every boring detail of networking to get an A. Takes 20%+ off of 20 page papers for small format issues.

4x 20 page writing assignments. They take forever and he takes off tons of points for something like your table of contents being a little messed up. Final project: write a professional HTML website for your 10 page paper. HTML is not a prereq and he doesn't teach it to you. Very unreasonable professor, class lacks common sense, is impractical.

You will write papers every week. I took this professor in a summer class. I had to write a 20 page paper every week! The material in the class is not hard, the work the professor gives is extremely time consuming and I don't feel like it adds anything to the learning experience. This is one of the worst professors I have taken. Pick someone else.

Professor McMahon is a good person, he does try to help you in the class but the software he makes his students use (vlc) is difficult and time consuming. This class is equivalent to two classes, you will spend at least 40 hours in this class per week. (No Joke)I would suggest taking another professor.

Class was not easy however I found that this professor was very understanding and helpful if you emailed him. My best advice would be to study study study. Stay ahead of the syllabus deadlines and submit EVERYTHING before the due date. If you work a full time job, create a good balance,if you do not you will NOT do well. very helpful teacher

Professor McMahon is a good guy but the worst teacher I have every had. He believes in his software but the VLC software is the WORST software I have every used. He accepts late work but the work load is so much you have to turn in the material late. DO NOT TAKE!!!! Hardest professor in the business school

Don't purchase textbooks, only codes are needed. VLC learning course is difficult, test are hard and based off of VLC learning for the majority. You need to engrave VLC in your head. There's 11 modules, write 2 pgs min. for each module. Asked for help, he wanted me to go in person during his office hours, i'm working during his hours. Got no help.

A lot of time consuming, redundant work. Tests are ridiculously difficult as there are multiple answers for each question. He is very arrogant, replies to emails with unnecessary attitude. Overall it was a challenging class and I would recommend taking someone else if you have the option.

If you think you can get through the class w/out reading all the articles, studying all modules, and not doing projects, you might as well drop the class. This teacher will not hold your hand. It is a heavy class. Don't take 4 classes if you have work and school .He gives you PowerPoints with the modules. Great professor, makes you work for the A.

First of all, I'm majoring in EIS, and this to me is a VERY TIME CONSUMING class. Probably the most work I've done in any college level course. That being said, if you do your work, you will do well. He gives you grades based on effort, not achievement. Look up VLC Learning, you will become very familiar with it if you take him.

He's an okay guy, if you go to his office to ask questions, he's going to help you! The material is very hard and very time consuming, if you're taking more than 12 hours, don't take this class. It's literally 30 hours of your week. Tests are hard as well. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT IN THE BEGINNING, and if you're in the class, good luck you'll need it!
