Fantastic prof! He knows how REAL education should work--growth, not torture for students. He truly taught me a great deal, both in the classroom and about life. He's an excellent person. I'm privileged to have been his student. Even after graduating, he still comes to mind as CLEARLY one of the VERY BEST profs I've ever had.

When you have to take research methods, take it with Dr. Metzger. The class itself is terrible but he makes your life a little bit better. The one complaint I have is that it can get really frustrating not knowing where your grade stands until the end of the semester, but most of that wasn't really his fault anyway. Great guy!

Decent teacher. You learn a lot from him. But I got distracted looking at him while he gave the appearance that he was in a trance by doing what he did with his eyes--they would roll in his head and all you'd see are the whites of his eyes. lol

I took Dr. Metzger for 202(research methods) and 313(cognitive)and both classes were a lot better because I had Dr. Metzger. He is one of the best professors at UTC and is EXTREMELY helpful with whatever you need. I would take Metzger for any class you can get him with- you will be happy you did!

I dreaded taking research methods, but Dr. Metzger made it a great experience! He focuses 100 % on students and will do anything in his power to help them. The class is 3 take home exams with 4-5 essay questions and then in class multiple choice which come straight from the online practice tests. Then of course the research paper and presentation.
