You can come as late as every and he doesn't care. This professor is a complete bore, he is extremely STRICT with grading especially when it comes to grammar and spelling. Its like it doesn't matter what you wrote, if your commas aren't where they are suppose to be and etc. You will get a low grade.COMPLETE BORE take another professor !

He's a total bore at times. Some topics are interesting. He's extremely tough when it comes to grading but for a good reason. Grammar & sentence structure IS important. BEWARE, He's very un-organized. Make sure you keep track of your essays/papers & if it's an in-class paper, pray he doesn't loose it like he lost mines. Sexual analogies repulsed me

Glad someone else noticed the inappropriate sexual analogies/comments- which is even worse cause hes nastily hideous,old and sloppy. As for the class it was interesting but hes bad about handing papers back and his grading is erratic. Doesnt mark off for lateness.The only class I wish I didnt take and Ive had some bad professors!choose dif.if u can

Although I earned a good grade in his class; I really feel that this old **** seriously needs to rest in peace. He was extremely obsessed with sex and Condolissa Rice. I found his analogies very in appropriate and he made an intersting subject difficult because other students were lazy. F#$k him

Prof. Patterson gets a bad rap because he has high standards. At City Tech, people take English courses because they have to, not because they want to. So he's in a tough spot. I think that he's a marvelous teacher.
