Comment:
Fletcher's lectures are impossible to follow and he spends most of them going over things that he talked about at the beginning of the semester. The homework is fine but what he really gets you with are the tests. His tests address things he never went over in class or assigned as homework. If you want to survive, go to his help sessions!

Comment:
Fletcher is not a good professor, his lectures don't make sense and he often makes offensive remarks or jokes. If you ask a question in class he will try to make you seem dumb for asking it as if it should be obvious (even though he didn't teach that). I went to nearly every lecture and I still had to do a LOT of work outside of class to get an B.

The lectures were not helpful, but I did learn a lot from the homework. He also provides help sessions for the graded homework and before tests. As long as you stay quiet during lecture, he most likely will not call on you. If you do talk be prepared to get ridiculed by Fletcher.

Fletcher is incapable of conveying the needed information to the class. His formatting is unorganized and on the practice homework he gives out the answers are usually wrong(he later addresses it in class). Would not take from him again.

Condescending, if you're struggling it always somehow you're fault, expects you to teach yourself the content, tests are not like the homework at all, lectures are worthless, even students doing well hate him and his class, homework is excessively time-consuming, and he assigns extra homework before every test, so you don't have time to study

Fletchers lectures are difficult to get information out of. However his help sessions are EXTREMELY HELPFUL. He is also a professor who understands what your going through and is happy to work with you

Fletcher is one of the worst teachers you could ever have. His lectures are almost useless and if you ask questions in class he tries to make you look stupid by telling you it should be obvious. He is very full of himself and his tests are much harder than the homework. Hope you took chem before this or else you are going to struggle.

Lectures were only moderately helpful, and he would belittle students who were having trouble or asking questions. I relied a lot on the textbook.

I have been to many schools and this man was the worst professor I have ever had. Rude, makes offensive remarks, never could get a hold of out of class, wouldn't reopen an assignment because I went to the hospital even though I had a packet of proof. His lectures don't help with the test, and his hw isn't very related.

Hopefully you already know chemistry, because you won't learn any from this professor. Spends too much time belittling students when they ask questions to actually teach.

This is one of the worst professors I have ever had. The only reason to go to class is for attendance. I didn't learn anything in that class. I taught myself everything from the textbook. He is so disorganized and gets behind on chapters, then we have to cram in the last few weeks of class. I would rate him as 0 but that's not an option.

Fletcher has a dark sense of humor, and is a humorous professor in general. He will make fun of his students sometimes, but not to make his students feel bad, just to make them learn. Most of the time, he will help you if you ask. He has a tendency to play loud music in the classroom a few minutes before class begins.

Comment:
Rick is a terrible teacher. He teaches the topic of class probably about 1/20th of the time and gets side tracked constantly. He canceled class forever and still assigned about 4 homework assignments a week for those weeks he missed. Now we have to take two tests ad our final in less than 4 weeks. He might be one of the worst teachers I've ever had

He's been really awful this semester has canceled at least 2 weeks worth of classes and has just added more homework for us to struggle through. 1 out of every 10 minutes of his class you learn anything. Requires us to show up so we can get points but then he cancels and because he ran out of time he just makes us do the test anyway. Total

Lectures are worthless. Figure it out is his favorite answer to questions for help. You will learn more from YouTube than from Fletcher.

If you want to do well in this class, don't look up the answers to your homework assignments and actually attend class/read the book. His lectures aren't terrible, either. Go into Renfrew Hall and get help if you need it. Fletcher is always there to help out. He's kind of intimidating at first, but he's nice and a fair professor.

I really didn't get much from his lectures. He gets off on tangents and sometimes mixes his words up and says stuff that doesn't make any sense, but for some reason I found it really funny. This was the class that I had most of my homework in. I didn't find the tests difficult as long as you read the chapters and do all of the homework.

Lectures are always a complete waste of time, I only went because he counts participation. when studying for his tests, be sure to study through other sources than his because the test questions are almost always more difficult than the homework problems.

You really have to reach out to him to get help, but once you make that connection it is like he has your back the rest of the semester. Really a great contact to make and cares about basic levels of understanding. He has been known to use review questions, questions from clicker (attendance) quizzes, and questions from the book on his tests.
