He is not super accessible outside of class and the lectures are long. However, he is passionate about the material and prepares students for exams. You do need to read the wording of his tests carefully, they can be a bit tricky. He is very knowledgeable and has lots of experience. Lab is a lot to know but it correlates directly with class.

Ive taken for three courses, I understand other reviews but he grows on you. Long lectures but i recommend taking detailed notes of everything he says because it will pay off once you study- you will have all the answers for his tests because he will lecture them, without the Textbook. I never feel like we never wont over this.

Speaks in a convoluted manner. Takes a long time to make a point while lecturing. Attendance isn't mandatory, but slides are not enough. Answers emails poorly. Doesn't post marks. Content is clear and straightforward yet somehow still hard to follow because of him.

Overall a decent prof. Textbook not needed for lecture but is helpful for lab. You are only graded on a lab exam, lecture midterm, and lecture final so don't screw anything up. GO TO CLASS and take extensive notes. Lectures are informative and worthwhile but rather dull. Tests are fairly easy, 1 word to 1 sentence answers. Would take again.

overall i would not want to take him again tBH. HE knows what he is teaching but his exams do not make ansy sense like he does not tell his students much about the exams they are just all over the place.

One of my favourite profs. Tests are MC and short answer questions. Come directly from lecture. Write down everything he says (good idea to use a laptop at the rate he goes). Passionate about the material. Taken all the courses he teaches- animal behaviour, parasites and disease, invertebrates and ectoparasitology.

Nice person but his tests are pretty hard. He'll leave you second guessing every answer. Good idea to go to lecture.

Anderson is a pretty good professor, lectures can be boring because he usually just talks at you for the entire lecture. Can be funny at times. Goes into details but asks pretty basic stuff on the test. Powerpoint's don't line up to what he talks about in class which isn't a problem if you actually come to class.

I can't say I like him, but his classes aren't bad (although his slides are terrible). His tests are all multiple choice and short-short answer. I was a little disappointed that he spent so much time on worms and only a few classes on insects; weird, considering that mosquitoes are his favourite things (well, them and Darwin).

I had him for biology of invertebrates, animal behavior and parasites and disease. I absolutely love his lecture formats and how he explains things. He is very smart and his tests are very fair. I got an A or A+ in all his classes thus far and would take them all again.

This prof obviously knows his stuff, by the huge number of words he writes down on the board. But his lecture go off topic and are hard to follow with his PDF slides. Sometimes it just feels like he is talking just to talk, but its hard to know exactly where he is focusing. If he made better, more focused powerpoint slides he would be not bad.

One of my favourite professors! Very helpful and knowledgable on the material, not to mention his enthusiasm on everything invertebrate. It isn't an easy course, but hard work is definitely recognized; tests are very fair. I highly recommend taking a course with him!

Super intelligent in his field clearly. Has some interesting stories about the field (ie. parasites/disease). Doesn't seem to have a lot of time (I believe he was teaching 3 other classes at the time) for students and relatively brief and hurried when you try and catch him for clarification. Best you be a fast writer...

very boring professor, almost no leniency on test answers, and unless you audio record every class, don't expect to get above a B+

An O.K. Prof - Once you do the first test, you'll understand his format and know how to study (his examples/lectures). Intresting topic and course; talks a lot about moquitoes and bugs. Relies a lot on a series of movies he shows in class- Def study those for the exam and tests!

Excellent professor. Able to explain material clearly and uses examples to emphasize points. A bit of humour helps too. The class is great, his tests are very fair, and he is approachable and helpful. He's busy, but will make time for you. Highly recommended.

If you like Park, Anderson is for you. they are friends! He does not like contact with students outside o class. Lectures are slanted to his interests (which arnt exciting topics in animal behav). Exams when i took it were terrible. no choice and little room for errors. I dont recommend this class.
