Romano as a person is a solid guy, but as a teacher, it is very difficult to take him seriously sometimes. He jokes around a lot in class, and doesn't allow you to ask questions a lot. The whole semester was revolved around "For Loops." His quizzes are very difficult, and if you don't know programming you will be really lost. He is a bad TEACHER.

One of Shepherds best professors! Don't listen to those in 104 complaining, they haven't experienced the other professors at SU yet! Learned so much from him, and he legitimately cares about all his students and wants them to succeed! Not your every day professor, but so worth taking!

The dude doesn't teach. I could care less about the abrasive personality, but he doesn't teach. If I hadn't already known a lot about coding, I'd have been totally lost. It's intro to CIS, and he never described data types, what OOP is, what classes are and what they represent, etc.... All around just a bad teacher.

This professor is great if you already know how to do what the class is about. For people who took the class to learn from scratch, just drop the class now while you can still get some of your money back. HE DOESN'T TEACH THE CLASS. UNLESS YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, YOU WILL FAIL. WORST CIS TEACHER I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED.

I've taken all of Kit's classes, he is by far my favorite teacher! There are lots of people that complain his tests are too difficult. These people are the reason our CS dept has issues. If you failed all of Kit's tests, please change your major! Kit is a great resource at Shepherd, he is always there to help whether you're taking his class or not!

The work is a bit difficult, as you have to teach yourself a good bit, but if you follow the tutorials he recommends, and read the book, you'll be fine. His tests and quizzes are tough. He is not for the easily offended; his commentary may be taken too seriously, but if you have a similar sense of humor, he's a hilarious guy.

I absolutely adore Romano. He is engaging and hilarious. He expects a lot from you but you can tell it's because he wants to see you succeed. His work is a bit difficult, but if you read the book and utilize his recommended online tutorials, you'll be fine. Not for the easily offended, but if you like crude humor, you'll have a blast.

Well, Romano make his classes interesting. It's nice having a laid back teacher who will involve each student individually, even if it is him just making fun of you. However, his courses are hard. Expect to do a lot of work, and learning a lot of it on you own, and he doesn't like answering questions, and instead having YOU figure it out.

I learned so much from Kit Romano. You know, Programming is a tough field to be in, so it is only fitting that his classes are tough, too. I think it prepares you for the real world. He is such a crazy guy, but that made his classes entertaining. I loved every class. He is such a smart guy and puts you in your place!

Dealing with this Professor has been an absolute nightmare! His quizzes are insanely nerve racking - Nearly impossible for the average joe to pass. He will give out his program assignments like 3 weeks before a due date, and of those 3 weeks he may give useful information to help you finish it 1 of those weeks. Which is a class and a half TOPS.

1st thing: programming is NOT for everyone, if it's not your thing then this class will be hard. However, for the rest of us who can program (and like it), this class is fun. My only complaint is he side-tracks alot and so I don't learn as much Java as I would like to, but that's just me.

This man knows what he is talking about when it comes to java. He keeps your attention, and teaches the basics. you don't have to write code from scratch. I suggest that you sit in the second row whenever possible he does spit a little when he talks. Knowing how loops work helps a lot for this class. think about what you say before you say it.

Kit is one funny character. For a half blind man he does a real good job at making the class interesting. I wouldnt recommend him if your overly sensitive and cant handle a joke or too.

Prof. Romano cares about reaching students, and although some might find him abrasive, he is really interested in helping students succeed. To succeed, pay attention, have good attendance, and don't take yourself too seriously. The tests are hard as mentioned and a class full of F's for initial exams is not unusual, but the final grade is fair.
