He's pretty good with regard to helping on assignments, but his grading is heavily weighed towards the mid term and final exam. If you don't get at least a C on these, you will not pass, period. A lot of studying is required, and if you struggle with math like I do, it's hit or miss as to whether you will pass.

He's a tough grader. Expects answers to be very specific and gets off topic really quick. Talks too much and doesn't give out class assignments until the last 10 minutes of class definitely do not recommend this professor!

Lots of Hw. I took him for a summer course for STAT 10. HE'S NOT DIFFICULT. Here's a secret, if you want to pass - do the hw. It's not hard. It's a little long but you have time in class and its due the next day. Very nice guy, may get a little off track. Tests aren't too difficult- again, DO THE HW.

Highly recommend this professor. Gives practice tests exactly like the exam which helps a ton. Two tests and a final. Not very difficult if you study. Online hw is a lot but necessary to pass. Access code for hw costs 100 bucks and a TI-83 or 84 calculator is necessary. In class assignments can be turned in next class. Nice guy.

He is a good guy, but this professor gets off topic every lecture about something random! Does online homework that has many questions. Along, with more in class assignments that due the next class session. Prepare yourself to get tutoring or get a group together to do homework and study. All I have to say is good luck!

he is amazing when he teaches he does give lots of homework but if you put you mind to it you can do it people on here are saying he is bad because he makes you work for you grade they just want an easy A but he gives a study guide before each test that is exactly what is on the test just with different numbers so if you study you will do fine

Very repetitive without meaning to be, wastes class time always stayed at least 20 minutes past the release time to actually get work done, highly recommend reading his in class assignment instructions carefully dont forget to put the units and round correctly, leaves 30 min for in class assignment however it is not enough time.

All tests are based from in class assignments not online homework. The online homework seems like a waste. He does give practice exams before every test which is hugely helpful. You probably wont get an A without doing his extra credit project. Professor gets side tracked sometimes but hes funny and fair. Dont miss class, email if you do.

Elsdon is a good professor because he explains why you use a method to solve algebra problems, rather than telling you to just do it. He makes it very straightforward. Every class has a lecture and an assignment similar to examples in the lecture. He is forgiving about late work. He always gives practice tests to prepare you for the real tests.

Pros-Comes in with energy &ready to teach. The practice tests given a few days prio to the exam almost exactly like exam itself so a huge help in knowing what to expect. Cons: Tests worth 80% of grades, so youd have pass most of them to pass class. In class assignment every lecture, but most time not enough time to complete so they become hw.

if you can keep up, you should be able to pass with at least C. His study guides help. He gives an in class worksheet after each lecture to turn in before class but I could never finish them and turned them in next class meeting. The class is heavily weighed upon the 3 test he gives during the semester.

On the contrary to what one review says on here, if there's not enough time to finish the in-class assignment, he'll give you an extension. The reason why his lectures take long is because he's making sure you know how to do each type of problem on the assignment. He wants you to pass. I'm not too good at math, but I got an A.

Thought this was one of the easiest classes i have ever taken. People complain about him being hard because they don't ask questions and expect an A. He gives a "study guide" before every test, which is basically a copy of the actual test with the numbers changed. How does someone not get an A on the test when he gave a copy of the test? Very easy

Hands out assignments at the last 10 mins of class but expects you to have it done or stay after class even though they take about 1 hour to finish. He would even say oh if you have another class bring it to me later I'm here till 7. He also assigns so much homework! I dropped him. It was either that or I was going to go to human resources.

Beware. This professor subtracts by the percent and not by points. You could get everything right but be missing a significant figure or just not do it the way he taught it and an A or B paper can go down to a C or D. The grading was not clear and could change at any moment. I would not recommend unless you enjoy that sort of thing. Good Luck.

Professor Rodney is a great teacher, you don't really need the textbook for this class and he informs you so as well. You just need access to the online version. He has his own in class assignments and goes over them with you before starting it. He gives out practice test before each test including the final which is a BIG help !

I took Mr. Elsdon's class on a weekend for almost 5 hours, we met only once a week. He made the class very interesting, clear and entertaining. Me and most of my peers that I talked to were very pleased to be in his class. He teaches really good and clearly, also he helps when you have questions or having trouble in class. Very nice guy as well.

This professor is GREAT.. I know some students that complained about him being boring, then by the end of class they complain that they didn't understand a thing!!... well if you actually listened to his "boring" lecture you would've understood math like never before... He doesn't only make you understand math, but also where it came from..

Incredibly boring lectures... he talks about himself for a long time then gets back on track. Expects you to finish the assignments before class then it becomes homework along with the actual homework. He gives good study guides and a formula sheet that can be difficult to follow on the test.
