Excellent teacher! Funny, engaging lectures. Exams are open code, so if you write your notes in the code, you can use them. Learned a lot about tax in this class. Tough to get an A, but also tough not to pass if you go to class. Took for individual, corporate and tax research.

If you have little or no tax experience, good luck with this class! I dropped it the first time I took it expecting someone else would teach, and now I am unfortunately having to retake this class. Some people love him, so people don't. I don't. I am a senior with a 3.7 GPA, and I found this class a waste of my time.

Lectures are interesting but his grading methods are very subjective. If you are aiming for a good grade and ready to study donĂ¢€™t take him take it online. Because in this class you will need to write an essay type of answers in two exams and if prof. Guyette donĂ¢€™t like your writing style you are screwed.

Great, Knowledgeable teacher. Made this course very interesting, and fun. He is sometimes hard to follow, but wants you to know the how, and why more then just memorizing. Difficult subject, that is would be impossible to learn without a teacher with his knowledge.

Interesting guy. The class is not hard, but all tests are essay. They typically come straight from the book, but they can be tricky. Just make sure to read the chapters before class and study for the tests. Participation is 20% of your grade, so show up and discuss the chapters. He gets a little more lenient towards the end of the semester, though.

Probably the best professor I have ever had. Gives great lectures and really makes you grasp the material. Only used the tax code book so don't buy the other one. Does grade subjectively as far as his tests. In this class it's more important to show how you got there than it is to have the right answer. Just list everything. Highly recommend.

Great teacher. Gives "law school" type lecture that helps you to learn subject without memorizing facts and figures. Tests are essay situations where the argument is more important than the correct answer. Really enjoyed this class.

Loves the Red Sox, so if you're a fan be sure to let him know. Has a lot of funny stories and manages to throw some knowledge in there, too. Always entertaining. The test was a breeze. Participate and be attentive to stay on his good side. Amusing lectures + easy pass = two thumbs up.

One of the best professors I have had in what is now my 9 years of college education! My experiences at UWF, and in particular my experiences in the multiple classes I had with Roger Guyette prompted me to become an acct educator myself and I happy to say that four years after graduating from UWF, I am graduating with a PhD in Acct.

He is an arrogant ****! His grading is all according to how you look, and he tries to belittle people even if they get the right answer. By far THE WORST PROFESSOR I HAD AT UWF!!

Funny and interesting. His teaching style is very "law school" and could confuse some students. Be careful with your notes so you write down the correct outcome. Tests aren't that bad, and are based on "do you know there is a tax consequence?"
