Great professor. Really knows his subject. The exams are hard you have to work hard to get a good grade. HW is very important cuz counts toward the exams but does not need to be correct. Three multiple choice and t/f exams and third exam is not cumulative. The best tax professor you can have.

Great professor.He knows his material very well. Discipline is very important, yet he has great sense of humor. Made me like taxation. weird I know. I took his class during the short summer semester. There exams and HWs are part of the grading. If you miss a HW, he will deduct 3 points of your exam grade. Listen, take notes and READ THE BOOK!

First of all, extra credits is an absolute myth. Whoever wrote this must be talking about a different professor. He says participation will help your grade and that's a complete lie, so don't waste your time on that. The grade is based only on 3 exams and HWs and that is it. DO NOT be decieved by his "participation" crap.

I HIGHLY recommend professor West. His homework assignments, which are part of your exam grade, are a good preparation for the exam. He keeps the class interesting by integrating the material with funny anecdotes. Exams are multiple choice and easy if you pay attention and do your homework. TAKE HIM!

There are no extra credits. There are HWs on every chapter that he discusses in class. These HWs are PART of your exams. So never miss any HW. doesn't matter if they are 100% right.2 exams and a final. He covers more chapters than other Tax profs but his classes are never boring at all. He wants students to get the worth of what they paid for.

Great professor, you would not regret taking his class. Attendance is not mandatory, but you would find out that it is important to come to the class. Exams are reasonable. He has a clear structure of what is going to e on exam and what's not. A lot of opportunities to receive an extra credit

Tax is very hard no matter who you take. But I had so much fun with him - it was a late night class, and I would never fall asleep! He gives good examples, tells interesting tax stories, explains the staff really well. Exams are all mc, as opposed to other tax professors, which makes your life a bit easier

Prof. West really cares about his students. He wants his students to do well in his class which is why he integrates his good sense of humor to keep the class alive and presents the material in a way which is easier for the students to digest. ALOT of memorization for this class. doesnt curve and based grades soley on the exams.. very tricky so if u dont read carefully u will fail easily. not the best but if u work than u gotta do what u gotta do.

exams are extremely difficult..alot of problems that are interrelated so if u dont noe a ur not goin to get b c d. very hard exams and grades soley on midterm and final. most of the students dropped after midterm with the class average at 59

If you study hard and try to understand the tax rules, you shouldn't have any problem. Ask question, Prof. West is willing to help. It's not an easy course, many rules to remember and understand, but you need to study and read the book. Think about a big TAX REFUND you would get when you know the rules!! =)
