she is amazing study her hand outs read the chapter from book and you will do fine i loved her lectures. Lab was a little more harder but just study the labs i got a b+. She explains really well everything for bot classes. Her final for lecture was questions from the previous test so it was very easy i got an A . She was amazing :)

Comment:

Shes awesome, just study on ur own n study what she gives u and u will pass. She helps you alot and if u do put in the effort u will will results. Dont put things off to the last minute, it will hurt u more than help u . Overall shes a great teacher to have for lecture

Comment:

I really enjoyed the lab portion of the class. Study the labs thoroughly, especially the physiological tests and the small details that go along with conducting them. Professor Cobos was always nice & willing to help if you show genuine interest. My best advice is dont procrastinate, study as detailed as possible and ask for help if you need it.

Comment:

I was very nervous going into microbiology lecture knowing that professor Cobos does not use PowerPoints. However, I adjusted just fine. Read the chapters, go over your notes & most important study a little everyday. If you are polite to her she will be polite to you. An A is definitely obtainable. I also recommend recording the lectures.

Comment:

Professor Cobos does not have power points so be prepared to read on your own. Just because she says something will not be in the test does not necessarily mean that because many times on her exams we had surprises that she told us not to study. She can be sarcastic and not in a good way. I wouldn't take her again.

great professor, honestly, she knows her stuff. You dont need PowerPoints because she goes over everything. I recorded her lectures-it was very helpful. Study her handouts for tests, front to back, her tests are based on them. Will let you retake a test in the end of semester, doesnt help you know whats on her test. So read and study handouts.

Comment:

Prof. Cobos was a really nice and calm professor. She really cares for her students as she gives extra credit closer to the end of the semester. But don't wait for extra credit just because you're doing bad in class and think xtra credit will help increase your grade. The key is to always read the Textbook. Overall, she's ok. I'd recommend her.

Expect no power points for lecture rather hand outs, bring your textbook to class, and teaches via white board. She can be a bit unorganized and unclear of what expected for exam so READ. For lab is a lot of material a bit unclear of what she wants you to study for the practicals. Hence, recommend going to office hours she's an alright professor

I recommend taking this course alone or with electives. Plan on spending a lot of time to prepare for exams. Even though there is no powerpoint, you will adjust! Record lectures and re write notes. She is very helpful if you show interest in the material. Little extra credit given, exams are tough, some hw, and final was all multiple choice ! :)

This professor is so unorganized I took her Fall 2016 some of my fellow classmates & I had to correct her in a few things. She will focus on 1 topic and go on and on only to be wrong about it & she HATES being corrected! Her exams are so hard & don't really match up with what she teaches. I taught myself in this class, I am NOT taking her lab.

Prof. Cobos has a sweet personality but she is very unorganized and a slow grader. Her notes are messy and incoherent and she gives you so many papers it becomes a mess. She is not clear on grading criteria so make sure you ask her what she wants beforehand so you don't get points docked. Difficult to receive full credit on anything.

The problem with this professor is she is not clear at all at what she wants. She will tell you she wants something and change her mind halfway through. She is very unprofessional and is often slow at giving feedback. She tells stories of her child hood to help you understand material which would be fine if they were actually relevant to the class.

I'm glad I dropped her class right on time without a "W". I made the correct decision and don't regret it at all! She doesn't cover everything. She is really disorganized when she writes on the board. Yes, this means no powerpoints for this class. You will be expected to READ to understand what was taught to you. Don't recommend her. Take others!

She is an extremely rude professor! She gives you attitudes when you ask her questions. She doesn't do powerpoints. Micro is already a hard subject and her exams hard... She goes through the outline on the back of the chapters only. You basically have to learn it yourself by reading the text book. READ READ! I DON'T recommend her for micro.

She uses a lot of handouts, study them. She gives extra credit on work you do well but not extra work. In lab, type your reports, make it neat, do a discussion on everything. I got 18 out of 15 on every report, those extra points got me an A. Ask her questions. Head start-memorize tests from atlas. +- results look, what means, why do test.

Comment:

Prof Cobos is very fair in the way she grades. She doesn't give extra credit, but if you go "above and beyond" on an assignment, she will give you extra points. One thing I don't like is that she doesn't have Powerpoints and what she writes on the board (for notes) isn't always coherent. Test material is covered in lecture or is in the textbook.

Comment:

Professor Cobos reminds me of a grandma version of Shirley Temple. Very cute and every once in a while she says some funny things. I am currently taking her in the Summer and that is pretty rough. But overall a lot of people are doing well in her class. If you ask her a question she'll go over it again in class and try to help you understand.
