Enjoyed having her as my online Comp teacher! She is wonderful towards her students. Easy to follow and understand assignments, (super easy actually) , provides positive feedback, and responds in a timely manner to questions or concerns.

Comment:

Dr. Emmons is an excellent professor. Be aware of the heavy workload, and participation in forums is a must--especially for peer reviews. There are a lot of papers and projects as well, but the feedback is always helpful. She can be slow at returning grades though.

Comment:

I could not say more wonderful things about Emmons. She always is sure to be timely & detailed in her communications with me so I would master the course content. When I shared a concern that could have impacted my academics she quickly helped. When several faculty members began harassing and slandering me Emmons acted fast to defend my character.

Dr. Emmons is a wonderful professor! I will be taking her courses every chance I get. Im truly glad that there is someone as friendly and helpful as her in my department. College is rough and having a kind professor to give positive feedback makes me feel motivated. About the class, its incredibly useful and enjoyable.

This teacher has good ideas and good projects to work on. The down fall is that she never grades papers. I currently still have papers that haven't been graded since the first few weeks of school, and now there are only 2 weeks of school left. I don't have my mid-term back. When you don't get papers back, you have to pray you are doing it right.

Dr. Emmons has a great personality that shows everyday. Her class concisted mainly of listening to her speak which she called discussions. There weren't many tests that I can remember. You have to read 1 novel, however sparknoting it will work. There are I believe 4 papers, but she helps you set up a writing pace which makes it a lot easier.

I took this class over the summer. Since this class requires you to read 5 novels ranging from 200-800 pgs. each, it's a demanding course. You MUST read all of the novels from beginning to finish in order to complete homework assignments and exams. Summer classes already have breakneck pace, so don't take this class if you don't enjoy reading!

I took Mrs. Emmons for Advanced Technical Writing and also Communication for Justice Professionals. I really liked her in The Communication class, however with the Advanced Writing class she is very rude, and unhelpful. She assigned us more work over SPRING BREAK than she did over a normal break. I would not recommend taking her class. She is awful

Horrible! She grades her students based on what she thinks rather than the work they do. Very unhelpful, strict, rude, and judgmental. Really needs to remember that her job is to teach her students, not look down on them. My major is English and she almost made me hate the field. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Great teacher! She was such a joy to take, and I wish my major required more English so I could take her again! She's relatively easy (not much of a difference between Comp 1 and Comp 2), and she's willing to help if you ever need it!

I enjoyed the professor and the class. It is a composition class, so she had us write essays and use proper formatting. Whenever I had a question or needed clarification on an assignment, she was happy to help. Overall, I thought she was very friendly and knowledgeable.
