Comment:

For every assignment you miss it counts as an absence. After missing a couple of assignments she suggested I drop the course because "Even if I gave it by best going forward there's little guarantee I would pass." After two assignments... She's kinda rude, and not helpful in any which way. 10/10 would not recommend.

Comment:

Took her online 103 class, and it was simple and right to the point. Read a chapter, taking a quiz. There were three very fair and easy concept papers throughout the course. She evaluates each one and gives feedback, and offers extra credit. Overall easy A and a fun course!

I'm taking this class right now. This class is not an essay folks you'll read so much I MEAN really too much OKAYYY. Impossible to get an A ahaha for those who just want to meet GED requirement taking this one. She wants you to put your efforts to learn. NOT a GPA booster class. 2(5 pgs) Video paper on youtube+(3) Video Discussion Boards paper.

I took Professor Hurst's online anthro 102 class and absolutely hated it. I wish someone on here would have mentioned that she requires you to video tape yourself speaking assignments for discussion boards. If you aren't down for this don't take the class. Also for 5 page papers (2) she gives you less than a week to prepare and submit.

Weekly quizzes are confusing and don't always clearly align with the book. There's no midterm and no final, just the quizzes and 4 assignments. One of my assignments didn't upload correctly, and she would not give me even partial credit, and since there are only 4 assignments this made it mathematically impossible to pass the class. Not reasonable.

Very simple and clear cut formula - read and answer a quiz for the online course. One big tank I took was missing the rubric for one of the videos. The videos are worth about half your grade, so make sure to do them and you're on a great path to success in this course.

Horrible teacher! Weekly quizzes are horrible! I emailed her multiple times about mistakes she made on quizzes or confusing questions and every time she would find some way to refute any blame. Dont expect to get an A even if you get over 90% she will give you a B! Could have been a very fun class but Prof. Hurst ruined any chance of that!

Comment:

Hurst is fantastic. She is wonderful at organizing the material per week, so you never have to scramble to find the assignments. Take Hurst if you're willing to put a little effort into learning enough material to score well on quizzes, and work on a few projectspapers to emphasize what you've learned. Trust me, you'll do well if you take Hurst.

Great teacher- Provides constructive feedback on ALL assignments. Weekly assignments are guaranteed; however, if you put time into the course these assignments should not be a problem at all. Assignments are due on consistent dates and times, no random assignment dates.

Worst class ever. Don't take this teacher she is not helpful whatsoever. She may have a doctorate but is not professional towards the students, if you miss any assignments or are late you will automatically fail the class and her answer is too bad. And any mistakes on her part you find on quizzes don't bother emailing because she isn't wrong.

I took the once a week 3 hour class and it was SO BORING. but besides that it was incredibly EASY. she lays out everything you need. I got a perfect score on everything. aslong as you attend (mandatory) go over ppt and vocab in chapter (which weekly quizes are on) right before class youll be fine. She's a total sweetheart!! SO EASY. & GREAT movies!

I highly reccomend this teacher! She is super funny, and puts her funniness into her lectures, which keeps students interested! She isnt like most professors who dont really care weather students pass or not, she is definately the most dedicated teacher!

A-Mazing professor! Dr. Hurst is an engaging lecturer. She teaches to everyone. Even the most reserved students wanted to participate in class discussions. Not easy, but not hard either because she makes it interesting so homework becomes fun. Impressed she knew every student's name by the end of the first class. Very respectful & inspiring person!

Comment:

Thought the comments were going to be helpful-- Dissapointed though. Great at DB conversations, but in class she is much different. Goes by the book, but if you have an inquisitive mind and like questions answered, she feels challenged. I recommend this class to be taken online. 3.8 gpa, but she made the class more difficult. Nice woman.
