Great teacher, very smart woman, very kind, a rare combination at VC. Her lectures were interesting and se tried to get the whole class involved in discussion. The kind of teacher you want to do the homework for, so you don't disappoint.

Great class! She definitely knows her stuff. She only grades on tests; however, she gives you a study sheet a week before each exam. If you show up to class and follow along in the book, you'll pass the class with ease. Extra credit is also available.

Very intelligent. She knows her stuff. Nice lady. Hard class. She grades only on tests, so if you do not do good on tests, don't take this class. Offers extra credit. gives study guides for tests. Homework is only for your benefit of studying-no credit for it. Hard tests, doesn't seem to notice that you have other classes/jobs, etc. to do.

Mrs. Galaway is a really sweet lady. The only thing you have to be graded on are basically three tests (one being the final) and attendance, this can be good or bad. She was helpful and did good reviews and study guides for each test. I would recommend this teacher.

she's a great teacher! history is not my thing but she made the semester enjoyable! shes passionate about what she does and VERY intelligent, but not so that its intimidating at all. youll have to study for the tests and attendence is important... extra credit is available!

really nice lady and passionate about history, but she does expect a lot from her test. The best thing is there isn't any term papers and she does give extra credit. If you like to read this is the class for you. Her lectures on slavery really teach a lot about the issue.

She is a good teacher and a nice lady. If you take her, you really only need to read the Conlin book. She pulls test questions from there. Please talk in class. I had a dead class and everyone left her hanging. I felt bad.
