Comment:

Scott is one of the greatest teachers at RISD. His class, though challenging, makes you want to work harder and learn more. He is incredibly knowledgable about everything covered in the class, and much more, yet also encourages students sharing their knowledge and experience. An amazing class, a fantastic teacher, you shouldn't miss it.

Comment:

Out of the many teachers I have encountered at this school, Scott Cook is by far the one that has impacted me the most. While a hard grader, he does so not to intimidate you, but to help you; as such, if you do poorly don't take it harshly, ask for help, and he will gladly give it. I have never had a teacher who cared as much about us as he did.

Scott is one the most incredibly caring professors I have ever seen. He truly cares for his students progress and development in writing. He also teaches what he loves and it shows, hes interested in the subject matter and he really gets you to be interested in it. Its true, you really owe it to yourself to take one of his classes.

Comment:

Scott is one of the best teacher's at RISD. He makes the lesson interesting and doesn't follow conventional teaching methods. His lectures are witty and show opinions and not only factual. He is encouraging and humorous in general !

I graduated 12 years ago, and I still talk (often) about what a great professor Scott Cook was. I developed a real love, interest and understanding of history from his classes. Absolutely do not graduate without taking a class with him. If I could afford to just go take more classes just for fun, I might start with more of his!

Coming into his class, I was hesitant and slightly reluctant because to be honest I didn't want to learn anything about Indian history or culture. But it's true what they say- sometimes the professor can really make the class. Scott is engaging and interesting and above all extremely knowledgable in not only his subject but in a ton of other areas

Loved this teacher. Keeps students interested and has a genuine passion for what he's teaching. Very kind, intelligent, reasonable and attentive to all of his students. I took "The Third Reich" with him and it was extremely fulfilling, informative and insightful.

His eloquence, poignancy, and modesty are just additions to his incredible ability to engage you in the class. His lectures are concise, and he's open to any question or rebuttal. He considers himself a lifetime student of history and culture, and will garner all your respect within a few classes.
